Delhi records highest June temperature in many years

In a recent Delhi weather update, the capital city is experiencing an intense heatwave, with temperatures touching 42.1°C. June 8 (Sunday) marked the highest June temperature in many years. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that this heat will continue through the week. Also dusty winds are expected on Monday. For those planning to visit Delhi, keep these things in mind. Delhi temperatures touched 42.1°C on Sunday. Some regions like Ayanagar and Palam recorded even higher temperatures—up to 44.1°C and 43.6°C, respectively. The minimum temperatures also remained warm, somewhere between 26°C and 29.2°C overnight. These temperatures are the sign of the starting of a significant heatwave. Monday's forecast also suggests temperatures could even go beyond and might touch around 43°C during the day. Alongside the heat, dust-laden winds are expected, which can reduce visibility and worsen air quality. As of now, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) is hovering around 198, categorized as moderate.
