Mumford & Sons set for 1st Detroit concert since 2019 with Little Caesars Arena date
Mumford & Sons will play their first Detroit show in more than six years when the band plays Little Caesars Arena on Oct. 20.
The English folk-rock trio on Friday announced summer touring plans in tandem with the overnight release of 'Rushmere,' the group's fifth studio album. It's the most significant outing from Mumford & Sons since the 2018-2019 Delta Tour, which also brought the band to LCA.
Tickets for the Oct. 20 Detroit show at 10 a.m. April 4 through Ticketmaster following a pair of presale windows. Presale details and registration are available at the band's website.
British singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka is tapped to open the LCA concert and other Midwest dates on the tour.
The upcoming show will be Mumford & Sons' first Detroit visit minus founding banjoist Winston Marshall, who parted ways with the band in 2021 after controversy sparked by his Twitter post praising a critique of the antifa movement. Marshall at the time said he was leaving the group to speak freely and keep heat off his bandmates.
The group's core players remain co-founders Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwane and Ben Lovett.
