Jefferson County law enforcement arrests man after social media posts
BESSEMER, Ala. (WIAT) — Jefferson County law enforcement officers arrested a man following social media posts Tuesday.
According to Bessemer Police Department, it got a public service announcement from Birmingham police about how they were looking into social media posts alleging a man in a black Nissan Maxima was randomly shooting people on the city's east side. Birmingham detectives found the vehicle in the Bessemer Walmart Supercenter parking lot around 4:30 p.m., and they called Bessemer police and Jefferson County deputies to the area.
When police arrive, the vehicle fled, Bessemer police stated. There was a short pursuit before the driver fled on foot. Law enforcement agencies responded to the area and set up a perimeter. The suspect, Demario Ladell Keith, was then taken into custody.

Bessemer police stated Keith is facing drug trafficking charges. Keith is also facing charges of certain person forbidden to possess a firearm, felony attempt to elude and other drug-related charges.
