Charlie Sheen's ex Denise Richards admits she lied to their kids to hide star's scandalous behavior
Denise Richards shielded the truth from her two daughters with Charlie Sheen while the actor was personally and professionally struggling. Richards, 54, admitted she may have "sheltered" her kids too much from the realities of what their father was going through while they were growing up. The reality TV star recalled the lengths at which she went through to not only protect their daughters, but also maintain a healthy relationship with her ex-husband. The former couple tied the knot in 2002 and were married for just under three years before Richards filed for divorce in March 2005, when she was pregnant with their second daughter, Lola. They welcomed their first daughter, Sami, one year prior. "If I was at a school performance, and he was supposed to show up, and I get a call, 'Something happened sideways, hospital, whatever.' I'm not going to tell the kids the truth," she said on the "Sibling Revelry with Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson" podcast. "I told them I lied, and I said, 'Dad had to work.'" Richards added, "Some of the things were so outrageously bad where I'm like, 'I can't say that.' So I did lie, and I sugar-coated, and I protected him." The "Denise Richards & Her Wild Things" star remembered one holiday when Sheen, 59, called from jail to wish the girls a Merry Christmas. The "Two and a Half Men" actor was arrested on Christmas Day in 2009 after allegedly assaulting and threatening to kill his then-wife Brooke Mueller. "He was arrested on Christmas, and he called me from jail to say 'Merry Christmas' to the girls," Richards said. "And they were busy playing with their toys. They're like, 'We'll talk to Dad later.' I go, 'I think Dad's gonna be a little busy later.'" Richards shielded her young daughters from the truth of the situation. "I didn't say, 'Your dad just got f-----g arrested, and he's in jail so come say "Merry Christmas" right now,'" she said. Protecting her kids was always the primary focus, even if to a fault, Richards admitted. "I actually sheltered the kids almost to a point where, now as they're getting older, they're discovering things, and they were at first getting upset with me, like, 'Why didn't you tell me this?'" she said. The "Drop Dead Gorgeous" actress said her goal was to preserve her daughter's relationship with Sheen, and not impede with her own emotions towards the situation. "There was a time I didn't know if he was gonna live, and I didn't want the girls to ever get to know their dad [from] what they would read," she explained. "I wanted it to be their experience and their relationship. And I also didn't want to put on them my feelings because that's not fair to them and their relationship with him." Despite the challenging times, Richards still insists on keeping the family united, and will go out of her way to include Sheen. "I even told Charlie, 'I don't care if you're pissed at me. Let's have dinner with the girls. Just f------ suck it up,'" she recalled. "Because they're our daughters. Tthey don't deserve to have their family split. Now your other ex-wife and your kid, you know what I mean? Like, let's all keep it harmonious as much as possible. So that's why still to this day, I still try to do it." The "Major League" star has had multiple run-ins with the law through the years. Sheen was famously named as a client of Hollywood madame Heidi Fleiss in 1995. In December 1996, Sheen was charged with attacking a girlfriend at his Southern California home. He later pleaded no contest and was placed on two years of probation. Two years later, his father, Martin Sheen, turned him into authorities for violating his parole after he was hospitalized for a cocaine overdose. Richards shares daughters, Sami, 20, and Lola, 19, with Sheen, and adopted her youngest daughter, Eloise, 13, on her own in 2011.

How Charlie Sheen's HIV Diagnosis Was Revealed to Daughters Shared With Denise Richards
looked back on one of the most difficult conversations she had with her daughters Sami Sheen and Lola Sheen. It was on the heels of their dad, going public about his HIV diagnosis. He did it without giving Denise or the girls a heads-up. Charlie and Denise had their share of scandals post-divorce and were at odds over many things like how to parent their girls and child support payments. When the former revealed on the Today show in 2015 that he was HIV positive, it was Denise who had to talk to their girls about what that meant. 'They weren't ones to Google us because we're mom and dad,' Denise shared with Jana Kramer on her Whine Down podcast. 'But I did have to tell them because this is where I was kind of upset with Charlie that he didn't warn me. It was everywhere.' Denise picked up the girls early from school that day. She didn't want the other kids at school to break the news to the girls. 'I wish he gave me a heads up, like, 'Hey, I'm doing it today,'' she admitted. At least that would have given her time to prepare. The truth is though, the two never really co-parented their girls. It was more like they parented in their own ways. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum admitted that it was 'hard to explain' to her daughters what Charlie's medical diagnosis meant. But she tried to be as forthcoming with them as possible. And it was the only time she had to share such serious information with them. Overall the former RHOBH star has tried to shelter her girls from public scandals and the ugly side of being in the public spotlight. The girls are all grown now, Sami is 21 and Lola is 19. And we're getting a peek into their family dynamics on Denise's new reality show Denise Richards & Her Wild Things. The show features Denise's kids and her husband Aaron Phypers. And for the most part, it looks like things are peaceful between Denise, Charlie, and even Charlie's other ex-wife, Brooke Mueller who is set to appear on the show. Denise Richards & Her Wild Things airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. TELL US – DO YOU THINK CHARLIE SHOULD HAVE HAD THAT CONVERSATION WITH HIS GIRLS? DID THEY DESERVE A PRIVATE HEADS-UP BEFORE HE WENT PUBLIC? The post How Charlie Sheen's HIV Diagnosis Was Revealed to Daughters Shared With Denise Richards appeared first on Reality Tea.

‘Wild Things' star Denise Richards admits she's not friends with ex Charlie Sheen, there's ‘no co-parenting'
Denise Richards is opening up about the highs and lows of raising children with an ex. During a recent appearance on the "Whine Down with Jana Kramer" podcast, the 54-year-old star discussed what it was like raising her two daughters with her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen, admitting on the show that their relationship could be better. "Truthfully, it wasn't co-parenting. I parent my way. He parents his way, and there was no co-parenting," she said. "I have kids with him, and I'm not really — I'm friendly with Charlie, but I wish we were friends and that we could talk all the time and be able to be there really for each other with our girls. But that's just not the relationship we have. Maybe one day. But, I mean, right now, there's nothing. There's no discord between he and I, which is great." The former couple tied the knot in 2002 and were married for just under three years before Richards filed for divorce in March 2005, when she was pregnant with their second daughter, Lola. They welcomed their first daughter, Sami, one year prior. Following their divorce, Sheen went on to marry Brooke Mueller from 2008 to 2011, welcoming twin sons, Bob and Max, with her in March 2009. Despite no longer being married to Sheen, Richards made it a priority to make sure her daughters had a relationship with their dad and siblings. "I was always an advocate of wanting everything to be great and be friends and blend the family because he had two boys with his wife after me," she continued. "I just didn't want the girls to feel like they had to choose sides." She went on to say she always made the effort to invite Sheen to their daughters' birthday parties and family holiday celebrations, explaining she "thinks it's good for the kids to see that too." Although their marriage did not work out, she said she "never talked bad about" Sheen when her children were around but says "now that they're older, they're discovering things" from the past on their own. Richards and her family have recently put their lives on display in the new reality show, "Denise Richards & Her Wild Things." Sheen appeared on an April 1 episode of the show, when he sat down to dinner with Richards and their daughter Lola, during which she shared her fears about becoming a public figure. "I'm scared of being famous. I'm scared of what people have to say," Lola told her parents. "Don't read anything," Sheen said. "Don't read anything about it. Because if you don't read it, it doesn't exist." "Denise Richards & Her Wild Things" airs Tuesday nights on Bravo.

Denise Richards lets husband control OnlyFans content, says site helps her land more 'sexy' acting roles
Denise Richards' husband plays a key role in the behind-the-scenes work of her OnlyFans page. During the latest episode of her reality show, "Denise Richards & Her Wild Things," the OnlyFans model revealed how her account has revitalized her acting career, with the help of her husband, Aaron Phypers. "I will say that I'm in the top 1% of creators on OnlyFans, so I am very grateful," she said, via People. "It's very empowering, especially for someone my age, that people still want to see me that way." OnlyFans is a subscription-based platform that allows creators to share and monetize their content, which can be explicit. Richards credited her husband for helping curate her risqué content, explaining, "He's so supportive. He knows what men love, and he'll go through all the photos and say, 'This is good. Do this. This is what guys like.'" She admitted that she had previous reservations about the adult content site. But once she dived into OnlyFans, she found the platform to be "quite lucrative." "When I joined OnlyFans, I was very concerned that I possibly could lose some jobs, but it was the opposite. I got more offers. I get roles where I'm like, the trophy wife or the sexy one." "When I joined OnlyFans, I was very concerned that I possibly could lose some jobs, but it was the opposite. I got more offers. I get roles where I'm like, the trophy wife or the sexy one." Richards continued to debunk any misconceptions of OnlyFans and added that she enjoys engaging with her fans in a different way. "People think that I'm just doing whatever — that's not true," she explained. "I actually look at it as a way of communicating with fans, and not the way that you're thinking." Meanwhile, Richards' daughter has recently had the opposite experience. Sami, the daughter of Richards and Charlie Sheen, slammed Hollywood's "double standard" as she confessed that OnlyFans had hurt her modeling career. "I really want to get headshots done to transition into modeling," the 21-year-old OnlyFans model explained later in the episode. "I've met with a couple agencies, and they don't like that I do OnlyFans. It's so frustrating because it's like, that's how I pay my rent. If you'll take me seriously, I won't have to do it anymore." Her mother shared the same sentiments as her daughter and applauded Sami for breaking into a bold industry. "That's the shame of it," Richards said. "Why judge based on them trying to make a living while they're trying to pursue their career?" "I really am so proud of Sami. I wish I had her f---ing balls when I was her age." Sami replied, "Well, look who my f---ing family is. You guys are crazy. In a good way!" "Denise Richards & Her Wild Things," sheds light on Richards' life as a mom of three. Richards shares daughters, Sami, 20, and Lola, 19, with Sheen. She adopted her youngest daughter, Eloise, 13, on her own in 2011 after her divorce from Sheen.

Denise Richards enlists Charlie Sheen for new reality show despite past parenting clashes
Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen are putting their strong family unit on display for the star's new show, "Denise Richards & Her Wild Things." During an interview with Fox News Digital, Richards said that Sheen was "very supportive" of her new reality series, and he was excited for his daughters to be able to show their lives off in their own way now as young adults. "Charlie was very supportive and excited that the girls are doing their show, and this is a wonderful platform for them. They've always lived in the shadows, being known as Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards' daughters." "Now that they're adults and able to be their own person, it's great for them to have their own voice and [let] people get to know them for who they are," Richards said. The reality television star's new show, "Denise Richards & Her Wild Things," sheds light on her life as a mom of three. Richards shares daughters, Sami, 20, and Lola, 19, with Sheen. Richards adopted her youngest daughter, Eloise, 13, on her own in 2011 after her divorce from Sheen. "Charlie was very supportive and excited that the girls are doing their show and this is a wonderful platform for them." Richards shared how she approached the "Two and a Half Men" star with the idea of appearing on her new show. "I just said to Charlie, 'Hey, we're starting filming.' He's very much a part of our lives, and it is about our life. And I said, 'Let's support our daughters. You support your daughters. Please film with us.' And he did, and I'm glad that he did that," Richards said. The former couple tied the knot in 2002 and welcomed daughter Sami in 2004. Prior to the birth of Lola in 2005, Richards filed for divorce from the actor. Two years after filing for divorce, Richards and Sheen were deemed legally able to marry other people, but the divorce wasn't finalized, according to People. They then entered a heated custody battle over their daughters. Fast-forward to 2016, Richards sued Sheen for $1.2 million for allegedly not providing financial support to their daughters. Sheen allegedly evicted Richards from a house he provided her and their two children. In 2021, a court ruled that Sheen was required to pay Richards "zero dollars per month" in child support, starting from Aug. 1, 2018, People reported. Richards and Sheen were also in the spotlight after the actor voiced concern about his oldest daughter, Sami, joining OnlyFans. However, the former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star told Fox News Digital that since childhood, she has "always" encouraged her daughters to be themselves and that they are "much stronger" than she was at their age. "My girls are much stronger than I was when I was their age. Starting out. I grew up very different than they did. I grew up in Illinois, a small town, and my family was not in Hollywood," Richards noted. "They've grown up having parents, you know, their whole life. This is all they know. This is their normal. So I think that they'll do a pretty good job at navigating everything. "Obviously, when they first got on social media, I was nervous about that because you're just out there, and they got older, and people can make comments and say things. So, I've always told them to focus on the positive. Don't read the negative and just be who you are," Richards said. "Denise Richards & Her Wild Things" will show a look at her "blended family," sibling rivalries and the difficulty of raising a daughter with special needs. "First of all, Eloise has special needs and that in itself is a challenge. There's different challenges with that. She's 13 now, and then with Sami and Lola being young adults coming into their own, I have challenges with sibling rivalry, which I think a lot of parents can relate to. "And then also, I think a lot of parents can relate to it [being] bittersweet letting them go off and be on their own and be adults, and sometimes want mom to step out and not button up certain things. So I think there's, you know, quite a few challenges that I find that a lot of parents will be able to relate to some of the things I have to deal with," Richards said. Since Lola and Sami are only 15 months apart, they have had their fair share of arguments over the years. Richards told Fox News Digital that the sisters had a "big challenge" that took quite a while to overcome, which is the "biggest part" of the reality series. "It was hard for me as a mom and trying to navigate that. And I told them, 'You girls, when you get a little older, you're going to look back and think, "Wow, that was really silly that we let that affect us so much."' But at their age, sometimes those things are big things. I understand because I have a sister too," she said. Richards continued, "They're very different. They're total opposites, but they do have a lot of similarities too, but they don't even realize it." Brooke Mueller, the woman Sheen married shortly after his divorce from Richards, will also be making an appearance on the show. "Our relationship is great today. And we have had many ups and downs over the years. I've always tried to keep a very harmonious environment for all of us," Richards said. Mueller and Sheen share twins, Max and Bob, and Richards said she's always here "for her and for the boys." "It's a peek inside the dynamic of our family. We're all very different." Richards' relationship with her husband, Aaron Phypers, will also be on display in her new reality series. The couple tied the knot in 2018. Richards told Fox News Digital that her daughter, Eloise, was excited about the idea of a reality television series because she "loves seeing herself on camera." Sami was equally open to the idea, but Lola took a little convincing. After all of her children were on board, Richards decided to go through with the idea. The biggest thing Richards wants fans to take away from the new series is that her family had fun filming the show. "It's a peek inside the dynamic of our family. We're all very different. But, I think that a lot of parents will be able to relate to a lot of the issues that I deal with as a mom and navigating challenges with a teenage daughter who has special needs, navigating my older daughters and raising kids." "I think that people will be able to relate to that no matter what the circumstances are, even though we are in the public eye, there's still challenges that every parent [has] to deal with," Richards said. "Denise Richards & Her Wild Things" debuted on Bravo on March 4.
