22 athletes take part in USD Pro Day
VERMILLION, S.D. (KELO) — Several colleges host their NFL Pro Day throughout the month of March, leading up to the NFL Draft in late April.
15 players from USD, four from Augustana and one from both USF and Black Hills State showcased their talents on Wednesday.
Plenty of professional scouts were in attendance, including a record 27 NFL and one Canadian Football league scout.
Hosting such a big group on Pro Day comes with leading by example in support of one another.
'Feeding off each other energy, making each other better. So we all got one goal was to make it to the next level. The more we make each other work, the better our numbers will be,' USD defensive back Dennis Shorter said.
'Just hosting the Pro Day, this is probably the biggest group we've ever had here and being able to put a showing out like that with the area guys and the Yotes squad, it's pretty cool,' USD defensive linemen Blake Holden said.
The NFL Draft will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin beginning on April 24.
