Things to do in Denver this weekend: Jazz Fest, the Rockies and more
Enjoy a weekend of jazz music throughout Denver and Boulder during the inaugural Denver Jazz Fest, starting Thursday.
State of play: This event replaces the long-running Five Points Jazz Festival, expanding the celebration from one day to four.
Catch up quick: The fresh format hosts events in venues across the city and charges for tickets in lieu of the higher production and security costs of the former free street festival.
City officials also announced a grant program to support artists and host events in Five Points year-round.
What to expect: 27 performances across 13 venues including DPAC Sculpture Park, Spangalang Brewery and Boulder Theater.
Grammy-recognized artists like Dianne Reeves, Bill Frisell and Omar Sosa are among the musicians in the lineup.
