The Department of Finance in Ajman Organises Introductory Workshop to Enhance 2026 – 2028 Medium-Term Financial Planning
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of financial planning and the sustainability of public resource management, the Department of Finance in Ajman organised an introductory workshop for government entities in the emirate. The workshop aimed to explain Financial Circular No. (3) of 2025, which constitutes a fundamental pillar in the preparation of the medium-term financial plan for the years 2026–2028, as well as the draft general budget for the year 2026. The objective of the workshop was to enable representatives of government entities to understand the requirements of the circular and its implementation mechanisms, and equipping them with the necessary technical tools to prepare accurate and realistic estimates of revenues and expenditures, based on actual performance and future projections. The training workshop covered several key areas, including general guidelines and rules for preparing the medium-term financial plan (2026–2028) and the draft general budget for 2026. Emphasis was placed on adherence to timelines, enhancing the quality of data, and improving the accuracy of financial analysis—all of which contribute to more efficient allocation of public resources and increased levels of transparency. Commenting on the occasion, His Excellency Marwan Al Ali, Director General of the Department of Finance in Ajman, stated: 'The organisation of this workshop reflects the Department's commitment to strengthening the capabilities of government entities in financial management, in line with international best practices. It aims to support the preparation of realistic budgets based on sound analytical foundations, in a way that reflects the vision of the Government of Ajman and supports its aspirations for sustainable development.' His Excellency further stressed that integrated coordination among various government bodies is the cornerstone of achieving rational and sustainable financial planning. He highlighted that such close cooperation will inevitably lead to maximised resource utilisation, which serves the interests of the emirate and contributes to prosperity and an enhanced quality of life. During the workshop, the Department underlined government entities' strict adherence to all technical requirements, further noting that it is a key foundation for preparing plans and budgets that reflect the emirate's development priorities and enable evidence-based financial decision-making. This workshop forms part of a series of developmental initiatives launched by the Department. It is a reflection the Government of Ajman's commitment to embedding the principles of effective financial planning and achieving alignment between governmental resources and strategic objectives, in line with the emirate's future ambitions.

The Department of Finance in Ajman elevates institutional excellence with three international certifications
Ajman: The Department of Finance in Ajman continues to strengthen its institutional efficiency, having obtained three prestigious international certifications. These include the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) certification from the UAE Internal Auditors Association (UAE IAA) in compliance with global internal auditing standards, the Dubai Building Code certification for accessibility for People of Determination and senior citizens from GTÜV, and the ISO 56001:2024 certification, the latest international standard for innovation management systems. This achievement reflects the department's commitment to adopting excellence standards, cultivating a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and innovation, while ensuring an inclusive and sustainable work environment that serves all segments of society. With these additions, the department has now raised its total number of quality certifications to 14. On this occasion, His Excellency Marwan Al Ali, Director General of the Department of Finance in Ajman, emphasised that these accomplishments would not have been possible without the continuous support of the wise leadership. He highlighted that they embody the department's dedication to enhancing transparency, institutional efficiency, and adherence to the highest standards of quality and governance—all in support of sustainable development and the Ajman Vision 2030 objectives of inclusivity, institutional agility, and sustainability. He stated: "We are proud of these accreditations, which reflect the dedication and commitment of our team in achieving institutional excellence and fostering continuous innovation as a means to enhance government efficiency and improve quality of life in the emirate." As part of these achievements, the UAE Internal Auditors Association, accredited by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), awarded The Department of Finance in Ajman a "Generally Conforms" rating—the highest level of compliance—confirming its adherence to the Code of Ethics and the effectiveness of its internal auditing processes. This certification underscores the department's commitment to enhancing financial and regulatory efficiency in Ajman, optimising risk assessment, and ensuring the best use of resources—ultimately reinforcing governance and transparency at the highest levels. In line with its commitment to inclusivity and sustainability, the Department of Finance in Ajman also obtained the Dubai Building Code certification, affirming its success in adapting its facilities and buildings to meet the needs of People of Determination and senior citizens. This achievement aligns with the leadership's vision of creating an inclusive and accessible work environment for the government that serves all members of society. Additionally, the ISO 56001:2024 certification was awarded to the Department of Finance in Ajman for meeting all the standards' requirements. This certification highlights the efforts of the department in establishing a strategic innovation framework, establishing a culture of creativity, and implementing effective processes for idea management. It also emphasises the use of performance measurement mechanisms and continuous improvement strategies, ensuring the development of innovative solutions that create value for stakeholders. The Department of Finance In Ajman Organises The 'Financial Innovation Hackathon' To Encourage Innovative Teamwork Towards Achieving Financial Sustainability
As part of its initiatives for 'UAE Innovates' Month, the Department of Finance in Ajman launched the 'Financial Innovation Hackathon', which will continue from 10 to 13 February 2025, with the participation of representatives from government entities, suppliers, customers, and community members. The event aims to foster a spirit of collective innovation to develop solutions that empower society and support government financial operations. The hackathon includes brainstorming sessions designed to raise participants' awareness of the concept of innovation and its tools, applying them to develop creative solutions for challenges related to financial procedures and supply processes, in addition to promoting and enhancing the use of electronic payment methods. His Excellency Marwan Al Ali, Director General of the Department of Finance in Ajman, stressed that 'UAE Innovates' Month serves as an important national platform for strengthening a culture of creativity and innovation across various sectors, contributing to the UAE's vision for a more advanced and prosperous future. He noted that this initiative 'comes within the framework of the department's commitment to promoting innovation in the government financial sector and providing effective and sustainable solutions to the various challenges faced by our partners, customers, and the community in a way that supports sustainable development and enhances the quality of life in the emirate.' Al Ali added: 'Actively contributing to 'UAE Innovates' Month reflects our dedication to supporting the objectives of The Year of Community by encouraging creative minds to shape a sustainable financial future by presenting ideas and visions that help develop solutions for current and future financial challenges, within a comprehensive partnership between the government, the private sector, community members, and university students. The hackathon includes four sessions, the first of which brings together employees specialising in financial affairs from government entities to discuss the challenges these departments face, such as difficulties in recording revenues and expenses, delays in the submission of financial reports, and obstacles in revenue and fine collection. The second session highlights the challenges encountered by suppliers and customers, particularly in contract and procurement procedures. The third session of the 'Financial Innovation Hackathon' provides an opportunity for university students to present innovative ideas that encourage the use of the Ajman Payment Wallet and explore diverse ways to promote it. Meanwhile, the fourth session addresses various challenges facing employees in the financial work environment, aiming to develop creative solutions to enhance efficiency. The Department of Finance in Ajman is dedicated to enhancing the provision of financial services in the emirate by establishing a flexible and integrated financial system that aligns with international best practices.
