First batch of Qatari pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia for Hajj
The first group of Qatari pilgrims has started arriving in Saudi Arabia on Saturday to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. The joint efforts of Awqaf's Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Qatari Hajj Mission, and other relevant authorities ensured that the arrival took place in a well-coordinated and organized manner. The efforts are aimed at ensuring the comfort and safety of Qatari pilgrims from their departure at Hamad International Airport (HIA) until the completion of their pilgrimage and safe return home. Several flights operated by Qatar Airways and Saudi Airlines departed HIA on Saturday, carrying pilgrims affiliated with 17 accredited Qatari Hajj campaigns. The first flight arrived at 10am and was warmly received by members of the Qatari Hajj Mission, including staff from the Coordination and Follow-up Unit, the Airport Unit, and the Inspection and Oversight Unit. Flights continued to arrive throughout the afternoon and evening, with the last flight of the day landing at 9pm. The arrival of pilgrims is set to continue through Sunday at the King Abdulaziz International Airport and the Hajj Terminal in Jeddah. The majority of Qatari pilgrims are expected to arrive by Monday (June 2). Qatari pilgrims are performing Hajj under 17 officially approved campaigns — Al Manasik, Lusail, Al Ali, Zamzam, Al Furqan, Al Tawbah, Al Bayan, Al Huda, The Fifth Pillar, Al Marwa, Hatim, Al Aqsa, Al Noor, Taybah, Al Hammadi, Al Quds, and Nusk. The Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs coordinated with all relevant entities in Qatar to facilitate the pilgrims' travel. Qatar Airways, in cooperation with the Coordination and Follow-up Unit at the Qatari Hajj Mission, offered early baggage drop-off services 24 hours before flight departure, along with pre-issued boarding passes, allowing pilgrims to head straight to their departure gates. Dedicated Qatar Airways counters were also set up at the HIA for Hajj pilgrims. Meanwhile, the Qatari Hajj Mission deployed joint Qatari support teams at Saudi airports in cooperation with Qatar Airways representatives to facilitate entry procedures through Saudi border control. The Qatari Hajj Mission operates around the clock in the holy lands with its full team, ensuring comprehensive logistical, religious, medical, and advisory support so pilgrims can perform their rituals under optimal spiritual, health, and organizational conditions. --- Make sure to check out our social media to keep track of the latest content. Qatari Hajj Mission to depart for holy sites today: Awqaf
QNA Riyadh Qatar's Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, announced on Thursday that the official delegation of the Qatari Hajj Mission will depart for the holy sites today, Friday, 25 Dhul-Qi'dah 1446 AH (May 23), as part of ongoing preparations to ensure comprehensive services and optimal conditions for Qatari pilgrims during this year's Hajj season. Director of the Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs and Deputy Head of the Qatari Hajj Mission Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri affirmed that all support units that preceded the official delegation to Saudi Arabia are working around the clock to establish a fully integrated service environment for Qatari pilgrims. The mission, he said, will operate from its headquarters in Al-Naseem district of Makkah, offering specialised and high-quality services through its various support units. These units are also coordinating closely with Qatari Hajj campaigns and the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia to ensure the highest level of care. The mission includes several specialised units: Religious Guidance and Fatwa, Medical Services, IT Systems, Communications and Support, Inspection and Oversight, Ritual Sites Services, Logistics, Coordination and Airport Affairs, and Public Relations and Media. These units operate in harmony to serve Qatari pilgrims throughout their spiritual journey - from arrival in Makkah to performing the rites in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, and through to the completion of the pilgrimage. Al Misifri emphasised that ensuring full operational readiness before the arrival of the first groups of pilgrims is a top priority, adding that the mission implemented updated action plans and continuously reviews them to adapt to any developments, thereby ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and organisation. He also noted that the support units will oversee performance of Qatari Hajj campaigns and their adherence to approved standards regarding accommodation quality, comfort, care, and safety protocols. The mission's primary goal is to harness all available resources to ensure Qatari pilgrims perform their rituals in a safe, organised, and seamless manner, he said. The Qatari Hajj Mission offers a comprehensive range of services, including religious guidance and education, healthcare, technical and logistical support, and a dedicated Communications and Support Unit. This unit acts as a liaison between the mission's service departments and the pilgrims and their campaigns, operating around the clock to address inquiries and provide assistance on religious, medical, and logistical matters. All efforts by the Ministry of Awqaf and the Qatari Hajj Mission reflect the State's commitment to providing Qatari pilgrims with a safe and smooth Hajj experience, ensuring their comfort throughout their journey.
