Collective effort needed to make Yogandhra a success, says KBN College secretary
Yoga is a gift that India has given to the world, and every citizen must contribute collectively to make Yogandhra a success, said T. Srinivasu, secretary of KBN College. As part of the 'Yogandhra' initiative, a yoga session was conducted on Tuesday under the joint supervision of the Department of Physical Education and the NSS unit of KBN College. 1,500 students participated in the session.
Dr. Srinivasu stated that yoga has been included as part of the college's academic curriculum, and a timetable is being implemented to ensure that each student practices yoga daily. College principal G. Krishnaveni said that yoga promotes physical strength, mental stability, and inner peace. She also noted that the new National Education Policy has recommended including yoga as a part of the curriculum.
V. Narayana Rao, administrative officer of Hindu High Schools, emphasised that yoga practice is essential for students to become mentally alert and dynamic. Later, the students performed 'Suryanamaskaras', 'Pranayama', 'Dhyana', and various yoga postures.
