Watford add Spanish opponents to pre-season preparations

Watford fans will get the opportunity to see the Hornets in action at Vicarage Road before the start of the new Championship campaign after adding a fourth friendly to their pre-season schedule.
Paulo Pezzolano's side will take on Spanish Segunda Division side Deportivo de La Coruna at home on Wednesday, July 30, with the game due to kick off at 7.45pm.

Watford will play a pre-season friendly at Vicarage Road before the start of the season (Image: PA) 'It's important to test ourselves against a high calibre of opposition and Paulo wanted his first match at Vicarage Road to be a challenge,' said Watford sporting director Gian Luca Nani.
'Everything about our pre-season has to be about setting standards and that is why Paulo wanted this game.'
Deportivo will travel to Vicarage Road having finished 15th in the second tier of Spanish football last season.
Watford will start their friendlies with at Boreham Wood on Tuesday, July 8, before taking on AFC Wimbledon at Wealdstone's Grosvenor Vale on Saturday, July 12.
The third friendly is against Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road on Saturday, July 26.
