Even the most partisan Meath supporter would admit the best team won
Leinster GAA Senior Football Championship Final
'The Turfman' from Ardee might not have been the most appropriate song to blast out over the tannoy at Croke Park to greet Louth's first Delaney Cup success in 68 years 'Me ass is tired and I'd like to shed me load!'
But in the absence of a 'Beautiful Louth' ballad it was probably the next best thing. However, the singer which most of the youngsters in the 65,786 crowd wouldn't have known was the late great Dermot O'Brien, the Ardee man who led the Wee County to All-Ireland final victory in 1957, the last time they won Leinster.
