Belle Glade man, 19, wins $1 million in $5 Lottery scratch-off game
ROYAL PALM BEACH — A 19-year-old man from Belle Glade has won $1 million in a Florida Lottery scratch-off game, Lottery officials said Friday.
Derrell Ray bought his winning 50X the Cash ticket at Chevron, 11711 Okeechobee Blvd., in Royal Palm Beach. He took his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000, the Lottery said.
The Chevron station received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
50X the Cash, which debuted in January 2024, is a $5 scratch-off game that features 14 prizes of $1 million. The Lottery says players have a 1-in-3.96 overall chance of winning.
Scratch-off games accounted for about 74 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2023-2024, and have awarded more than $65.5 billion in prizes.
