SLED charges Chester County man with allegedly destroying human remains
CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — South Carolina officials have arrested and charged a man with allegedly destroying human remains in 2024, according to the arrest warrant.
In the affidavit, it claims that in November 2024, Derrick Deangelo Montel Dixon, 28, set fire to a 2004 Lexus ES 330 with the deceased victim inside. Police say the vehicle belonged to the victim.
Dixon was arrested on Feb. 19 by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and charged with third-degree arson and destruction/desecration of removal of human remains. He is being held at the Chester County Detention Center under a $35,000 bond.
According to the jail website, he is due in court on May 1, 2025.
