Donations available Wednesday in Langston for wildfire victims
LANGSTON, Okla. (KFOR) — As many Oklahomans continue to clean up from Friday's wildfires, victims can get some relief. Two semi-trucks from Chicago and Dallas dropped off supplies on Tuesday in anticipation of a donation giveaway on Wednesday afternoon in Langston.
'When we looked on social media, it broke my heart to see people from all ethnic groups commenting and saying, wow, some relief is coming our way,' said Pastor Derrick Scobey, from Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Pastor Derrick Scobey received a call from aid organization, World Vision, after massive wildfires hit parts of the state.
'He asked, 'Hey, I see what's going on. Do you want a truck?' And I said, 'Yeah, that would be great,'' said Pastor Scobey.
Those involved with the giveaway said it's an opportunity to focus on Oklahomans affected by the fires in rural counties.
On Wednesday, wildfire victims can get free supplies straight to their car.
There are thousands of items available including toiletries, dog food, clothes, cleaning supplies, and diapers.
Organizers also said there's something special for kids who were affected.
'A lot of these children, anytime you have a disaster, they are traumatized. You know, they are looking out the window and they're seeing a fire coming toward them and they think, 'Oh, my goodness.' So a toy or two just gives them a little sense of normalcy,' said Pastor Scobey.

Pastor Scobey said he's never seen fires like Friday and keeping up the Oklahoma standard is what he strives to do.
'Every time I've ever seen some type of disaster in Oklahoma that is in the vernacular I want to use, that is how we roll. We come together and we let nothing stand in our way,' said Pastor Scobey.
Wednesday's donation day will start at noon at the Langston Farmers Market on West Bond Street.
Organizers said you can drive up, and volunteers will pass out items without you having to get out of your car.
If you would like to help or give donations, Pastor Scobey said to call him at 405-885-8670.
