Fresh appeal a week after woman found badly hurt

Detectives in Leicester have launched a fresh appeal for information as they investigate how a woman came to be found with serious injuries. Leicestershire Police were called to Corporation Road at about 14:55 BST on 1 June and discovered the woman, aged in her 30s. The force said, one week on, the woman remained in a critical condition in hospital. They said they had spoken to a number of witnesses but urged more people to come forward. "There is a critically ill woman still in hospital following this incident and we have to find out what has happened to her," said Det Sgt Adrian Davies. "We know there are more people out there who may have seen what's happened – it was a very busy Sunday afternoon in a busy area of the city. "Any tiny piece of information, no matter how small, may prove crucial to our investigation." Police said the victim was riding an e-bike before she was hurt but this was not at the scene when they arrived. An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery, causing grievous bodily harm and theft of a motor vehicle. Another 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and robbery. Both were later released on bail. Follow BBC Leicester on Facebook, on X, or on Instagram.
