Man charged with rape and assault of two girls next to train station

A man has been charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault against a 16-year-old and 17-year-old girl close to a train station. Officers received reports that a girl had been raped and another report that a second girl had been sexually assaulted within the Digby and Sowton area of Exeter on Friday evening, Devon and Cornwall Police said. Sonny Boyes, 19, from Exeter, has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of assault by penetration relating to the two victims following an investigation. He will appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court on Monday. Detective Inspector Emma Lefort said: 'The victims continue to be supported by our specialist officers at this time. 'We continue to investigate the incidents and want to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Digby and Sowton railway station, or on a train passing through, between 8.45pm and 10pm on Friday 9 May.' A 19-year-old man has been charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault against two teenage girls near a train station. Police launched an urgent probe after the alleged sex attacks took place near Digby and Sowton train station, in Exeter, on Friday evening. Detectives are investigating the alleged rape of one girl and another who was allegedly sexually assaulted. Sonny Boyes, 19, from Exeter, has been charged with two counts of rape and three counts of assault by penetration relating to the two victims, aged 16 and 17, following an investigation. He will appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court on Monday, Devon and Cornwall Police said. Detectives are appealing for witnesses who were around the station or passing through it on a train between 8.45pm and 10pm on Friday. A 19-YEAR-OLD man has been charged in relation to two alleged sexual assaults perpetrated against teen girls. The incidents took place near a major UK station and police are now urging any witnesses to come forward, ahead of a criminal trial. 1 On Friday 9 May, one unnamed girl was tragically raped and another sexually assaulted near the Digby and Sowton area in Exeter. An investigation was launched, which led police to Sonny Boyes - a 19-year-old who is also from Exeter. Subsequently, he was charged with two offences of rape and three offences of assault by penetration relating to the two victims. Mr Boyes will face a trial at Exeter Magistrates Court on May 12. Ahead of the trial, Detective Inspector Emma Lefort from Exeter CID said: 'The victims continue to be supported by our specialist officers at this time. 'We continue to investigate the incidents and want to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Digby and Sowton railway station, or on a train passing through, between 8.45pm and 10pm on Friday 9 May.
