Flood affected people to receive meal, relief kit
Kanpur: The flood-affected people will now receive enhanced meal support, consisting of two meals and breakfast during the emergency period this season. This marks an increase from the previous arrangement of a single meal and breakfast.

Annual flooding from Ganga and Pandu rivers impacts many residents, with particular vulnerability in the Ghatampur and Kalyanpur regions. Around 35 villages in these localities face regular flood risks. During inundation, the affected population seeks shelter in primary schools situated at elevated locations.
Local administration, including SDM and tehsildar, oversees the accommodation and food distribution arrangements. An official of disaster management division stated that this time relief kit will include 26 items. Additionally, two meals and a snack will be provided. Last year, relief kit contained 18 items.
