Ranjitha faced every crisis with a smile, friend recalls

Kottayam: Ranjitha Gopakumaran Nair, 40, who was killed in the plane crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday, braved all odds in life and faced every crisis with a smile on her face, remembered her intimate friend Dhanya T Nair. Both shared a unique bond of friendship, and there was not a single day in their lives when they did not speak to each other. Dhanya's phone number was given as Ranjitha's contact number for all correspondences regarding her govt job. Dhanya broke into tears as she recalled their friendship, which started in their childhood. "We were always there for each other during any emergencies," Dhanya said. "She wanted to join back in the govt job and was trying hard for that. She had a disc problem, and the climate in UK was giving her health issues. She was suffering severe back pain, and despite that she continued her work," she said. Dhanya also said that Ranjitha told her that as soon as she got the intimation for rejoining govt service, she would quit her job in the UK and return. "The file regarding her appointment got stuck as she had not self-attested some documents. She came from the UK to do that," she said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo "It was a hectic trip for her as it took around four days for travel, and the rest of the days she was busy moving around for her job-related matters and also regarding the house construction. She told me that she feared her back pain might worsen," Dhanya added. Dhanya, a service cooperative bank employee, is three years older than Ranjitha. She received the final message from Ranjitha on Thursday morning before boarding the flight. "I wished her a happy journey but never ever dreamt that such a tragedy would happen," she said. They had a discussion of around one hour during the brief visit this time. "She told me that she can't stay in the UK for long as the climate is posing health issues. However, the construction of her house forced her to return to the UK until she got the intimation to join back in the govt job," she said. "She earned money for her mother and children. But she was not fortunate to spend at least a single day in the new house," said a heartbroken Dhanya. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here .
