Rashmika Mandanna starrer The Girlfriend has been grabbing attention for a long time. Fans are eagerly waiting for its release. And seeing #ReleaseTheGirlfriend trending on X, the actress has finally broken her silence and assured fans that the wait will be 'absolutely worth it." The teaser was released in 2024.
Director Rahul Ravindran addressed netizens and wrote on X handle, 'Guys… there will be updates soon. Praamise. Please be a little patient." Rashmika also stepped in and wrote, 'Hi my lovelies. I know we've been making you wait and your trend really is something else.. but trust me @23_rahulr is really working on it to give you the best output and it's one of the most special kind of films.. its a film where we speak about things we generally don't talk much about.. it's a pure characters driven film and that's the beauty of it.. we promise you we want to give you the best and it'll be worth you while. It is bankrolled by GA2 Pictures, Mass Movie Makers, and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment.
The teaser opens with the voiceover of Vijay Deverakonda. He praises Rashmika's character in the movie. The video focuses on her college love life. Even though the storyline of the film remains a mystery, we can see that Rashmika's character is struggling in her relationship with her boyfriend, played by Dheekshith Shetty.
Apart from this, Rashmika Mandanna also have Kuberaa in her kitty. IT is scheduled for a worldwide release on June 20, 2025.
