Dancing with D opens its doors on Clinton Street
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A new dance studio opened today on the historic East Clinton Street in Downtown Binghamton.
Owner Dhyani James officially opened her Dancing with D dance studio today at 23 East Clinton Street.
James says at Dancing with D, you can take classes in tap dancing, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, competition dance, and more. She says in the new space, she can finally fit all 28 of her competitive dancers in the same room for lessons.
James says once the landlords found out she wanted to turn it into a dance studio, they wanted to completely renovate it for her.
'If you want it to be a dance studio, we've got to gut it. We've got to start from scratch, build new walls, and they were very patient and understanding of what I wanted to do, and they've created a beautiful space for the kids,' said James.
Inside, there's dancing related artwork on the walls drawn by local artists.
She teaches kids as young as 4 years old all the way up to seniors in high school.
James plans to be open Monday through Saturday from 5:30 to 7:30, with extended hours on Saturdays.
