OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Service Oklahoma is reminding Oklahomans beginning May 7, travelers age 18 and older must present a REAL ID or passport at airport security as federal enforcement starts May 7. 'We want people to be prepared, not panicked, at the airport,' said Diedra O'Neil, Chief Executive of Strategy & Operations at Service Oklahoma. 'A paper ID won't get you through security, and applying just days before your trip may not leave enough time for your REAL ID to arrive. If you're flying in May, don't wait. Visit for all the information on how to get a REAL ID in Oklahoma.' TSA officials say, those without the accepted identification could face delays, extra steps or denied entry. TSA PreCheck and CLEAR will also require REAL ID documentation to enroll. The deadline for obtaining your REAL ID is getting real close. After May 7, all adults will need a REAL ID to board domestic flights, enter military bases and access some federal buildings, among other things. Service Oklahoma is expanding hours to help everyone get theirs on time before the deadline. Starting Monday, select Service Oklahoma locations will offer REAL ID appointments on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. through the end of the year. Though the locations are concentrated mainly in the metro area and surrounding areas, Service Oklahoma said the expansion will help people throughout the state. 'We know life doesn't always fit into a 9-to-5 schedule,' said Diedra O'Neil, Chief Strategy & Operating Officer at Service Oklahoma. The above locations will be open on Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. throughout the month, as well as open until 8 p.m. from May 5-9. Other locations still offer "seasonal Saturdays" and will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – As the deadline to get a REAL ID approaches, Service Oklahoma is adding after-hours appointments for Oklahomans looking to get one. According to Service OK, the REAL ID deadline in May 7, 2025. Starting on Monday, April 7, some locations will be offering REAL ID Mondays and Wednesdays, by appointment only, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. through the end of the year. 'We know life doesn't always fit into a 9-to-5 schedule,' said Diedra O'Neil, Chief Strategy & Operating Officer at Service Oklahoma. Officials say the after-hours appointments allow for hundreds more Oklahomans to be seen each week, offering flexibility for those who cannot make it during regular hours.
