'I'm really happy with the team spirit this season'
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has been speaking to BBC Match of the Day about the performance and what he said to his team at half-time: "I told them to stay calm in possession and to show more intensity out of possession. The key was to have better positioning, to be cleaner in our passing and touches, and to show the right reaction."We showed a great reaction and it was a well-deserved win."On Jack Hinshelwood's goals: "I'm very happy for him because he is a player from the academy. He suffered a bit in the last little period, but he showed personality. He is great in training and he deserves the two goals. He never gives up. I'm really happy for him."On missing out on securing European football for next season: "We did all that we could and we played a very good season. Overall, we accept the other results. Brighton spoil Spurs' party with 4-1 win
LONDON : Brighton & Hove Albion left Tottenham Hotspur with a hangover after thrashing the Europa League winners 4-1 away on Sunday to finish eighth in the Premier League standings. Spurs were in celebratory mood following their European triumph against Manchester United in midweek and took the lead through a Dominic Solanke penalty after 17 minutes following a clumsy foul on Mathys Tel by Mats Wieffer. However, Brighton equalised six minutes after the break through Jack Hinshelwood, before he grabbed their second with a clever back-heel in the 64th. Matt O'Riley then scored from the spot after Diego Gomez was fouled by Yves Bissouma before Diego Gomez netted a stunner in added time for the visitors. Tottenham ended the campaign in 17th place, their lowest league finish in 21 years, with 38 points being the club's lowest ever Premier League tally. However, the home fans were more focused on celebrating their European success.

People are still shocked when we cause problems for the bigger teams and show up competing for Europe. People have been living under a rock and haven't caught on to the fact that we've been one of the best-run clubs in world football for a good few years It's been talked about a bit, but Diego Gomez looks like another gem. If he can form a reliable partnership with Carlos Baleba, we might have the next Mac Allister-Caicedo pairing on our When will we stick with a long-term team ie a regular squad that we won't see dissolve every season through selling for profit? While I fully understand Tony Bloom's goal is to have a profit, making a robust Brighton that will never be in financial turmoil - and we are all enormously grateful for that - I wonder how long it will be until we see more players staying season after season?Wells: I was driving a mate of mine to a match and asked him this question: "Do Brighton have the strongest second XI of any Premier League club?" He looked at me in disbelief, then after a period of reflection, he couldn't disagree!O: Maybe not in terms of going under the fans' radar, but Simon Adingra is certainly going under Hurzeler's. A very capable Premier League player who was great last season, who even got two assists in the Africa Cup of Nations final, is barely getting used. If I were him, I would demand minutes!
