Tata Harrier.ev is India's most advanced and capable electric SUV yet
Tata Motors has officially launched the all-electric — an SUV that transcends traditional category benchmarks and redefines what a made-in-India vehicle can achieve. Built on Tata's next-generation pure EV architecture, the merges capability with high-end sophistication, offering an experience that is touted to be as indulgent as it is adventurous. At its core, the is engineered for performance. A dual-motor setup delivers an extraordinary 504 Nm of torque, with 158 PS (116 kW) sent to the front axle and 238 PS (175 kW) to the rear. This Quad Wheel Drive configuration propels the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in a segment-best 6.3 seconds, bringing supercar-like performance to the EV SUV space. Powered by a 75 kWh battery pack, the also supports rapid 1.5C charging, enabling a 250 km top-up in 15 minutes. Real-world range estimates stand between 480 to 505 kilometres, making it as practical as it is thrilling. The SUV's terrain-conquering ability is equally advanced, offering six terrain modes — Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Gravel, Sand, Rock Crawl, and Custom — paired with Boost and Drift modes and off-road assist with low-speed cruise control. Features like Transparent Mode, which displays what is under the vehicle, and a 540-degree surround view system adds visibility for challenging trails. Inside, the is luxury on wheels. The Zenith Suite cabin features powered, ventilated, and memory front seats, a powered BOSS mode for extended rear seat legroom, dual-zone climate control with an air purifier, rear comfort headrests, ambient lighting synced with drive modes and music, rear sunshades, and wireless charging with 65W USB fast chargers. Utility is well covered too, with 502 litres of boot space (expandable to 999 litres), a 67-litre frunk in RWD models (35 litres in AWD), and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) as well as Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) power-sharing capabilities. Tata's digital innovations are showcased with features like Digi Access, which enables keyless entry using Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) tech on supported smartphones or smartwatches. A smart card and remote key with 11 commands including Remote Park and Summon Mode ensure convenience is never out of reach. DrivePay, India's first in-car UPI-based payment system, integrates seamlessly with EV-specific navigation provided by Mappls. This includes spider range visualisation, battery-efficient routing, and charging station discovery. The infotainment experience is headlined by a world-first: a 36.9 cm (14.53') cinematic Harman display powered by Samsung Neo QLED — the world's first Neo QLED automotive screen. The audio system features 10 JBL Black speakers with Dolby Atmos and multiple listening modes. The built-in suite hosts over 25 apps, offering access to OTT platforms, FM radio, music, and podcasts. Safety is comprehensive and cutting-edge. The comes with Level 2 ADAS featuring over 20 functions, seven airbags, including a knee airbag, ESP with i-VBAC, Hill Descent and Hill Hold Control, TPMS, SOS Call function, Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS), and automatic wipers and headlamps. An HD rearview mirror with integrated dashcam (supporting up to 128 GB of storage) and blind spot view monitoring ensure a safe drive. The comes in four bold colours — Nainital Nocturne, Empowered Oxide, Pristine White, and Pure Grey — along with a Stealth Edition for those seeking a darker aesthetic. With the launch of the Tata Motors has not merely built an electric version of the Harrier — it has reimagined the SUV from the ground up. Tata Motors has equipped the newly launched Harrier EV electric SUV with a plethora of advanced technology-aided features, and many of them are segment-leading, which makes it unique. Here is a quick look at the advanced technology-driven features of the all-new Tata Harrier EV. Tata Motors has been enjoying the lion's share in the Indian passenger vehicle market for quite some time with its range of electric cars. However, lately, the homegrown auto giant has witnessed its market share shrinking in the segment owing to rising competition from other players. However, with the launch of the new Harrier EV, the OEM aims to ramp up the game. 1 Tata Harrier EV: Reintroduces AWD tech Tata Harrier EV is projected by the OEM as a power-packed off-roading vehicle, not just another SUV with an electric powertrain. The Harrier EV brings back the All-wheel Drive (AWD) technology to the carmaker's product portfolio. The OEM dubs it as Quad Wheel Drive (QWD). The SUV gets dual electric motors, each powering one axle and sending power to all four wheels, allowing the Harrier EV to tackle treacherous terrains without much hassle. The front electric motor generates 138 bhp peak power, while the rear motor churns out 234 bhp peak power. The electric powertrain also pumps out 504 Nm of maximum torque. It gets multiple driving modes, which are - Boost, Sport City & Eco. 2 Tata Harrier EV: Promises performance Tata Motors claims the Harrier EV is not just another electric SUV, but offers a supercar-like performance. Besides the dual electric motor and AWD, the Harrier EV promises a quick sprinting capability. It claims to be capable of accelerating 0-100 kmph in 6.3 seconds, which makes it pretty fast. Tata claims that the SUV gets a burst of torque and power in demanding situations, enabling it to accelerate quickly. 3 Tata Harrier EV: Can go offroad Tata Harrier EV has been dubbed a capable off-roader by the automaker. The OEM has showcased its capability off-roading by showing a video of the vehicle climbing Elephant Rock in Kerala. It gets six different terrain response modes - Normal, Rock Crawl, Mud Ruts, Snow & Grass, Sand and Custom. The off-road assist system onboard the vehicle offers enhanced traction and control on challenging terrains. 5 Tata Harrier EV: Enhanced digital accessibility Tata Motors has earned quite some respect from the car buyers for bringing high-end technology-enabled features in its cars, and the Harrier EV is the latest addition to that list. The electric SUV gets enhanced digital accessibility through Digi Access, which makes the user's presence felt, with proximity-based lock and unlock. The remote key fob allows to perform 11 different actions, while there is an NFC-based smart card as well. Also, the dedicated smartphone application for the Harrier EV makes the user's phone a remote for the vehicle, allowing them to perform various functions and enabling them to share access to the car with multiple persons. 6 Tata Harrier EV: More digital screen Tata Harrier EV gets a more digital screen space in the form of a 14.52-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a wide range of connectivity options, a fully digital 10.24-inch instrument cluster with blind-spot view monitor. The blind-spot view monitor display can be seen in the touchscreen infotainment system as well. There is an HD rearview mirror with DVR as well that gives a full view of the rear of the vehicle and records everything as well. 7 Tata Harrier EV: Range polygon to address range anxiety One unique feature of the Harrier EV is that it shows a range polygon, which allows users to check the range estimation radius using navigation maps. Tata Motors claims that this feature has been introduced to the Harrier EV to address the range anxiety, which is related to electric vehicles. 8 Tata Harrier EV: V2L and V2V technology Tata Harrier EV comes with V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) technology. The V2L technology allows the user to charge various appliances and gadgets using the electric SUV's battery power, while the V2V allows the user to charge other electric vehicles using the onboard battery pack. Both the V2V and V2L technologies are found in the Tata Nexon EV as well as in the Tata Curvv EV. 9 Tata Harrier EV: Powered Boss Mode for rear occupants' comfort The Tata Harrier EV gets Powered Boss Mode inside the cabin, which is meant to enhance a luxurious experience for the rear occupants. The Powered Boss Mode allows rear seat passengers to move the co-driver seat through powered buttons, allowing more leg space and knee room. Enhancing rear occupant comfort are features like comfort headrest, rear armrest with cup holder, rear AC vents, rear sunshade and 65W Type-C USB charging port. 10 Tata Harrier EV: Front occupant comfort Tata Harrier EV comes with a six-way adjustable driver seat and a four-way adjustable co-driver seat. Tata Motors has launched its all-electric SUV, the with prices starting at ₹21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Built on the platform, the combines a dual-motor powertrain , advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and connected technologies as part of the company's push to strengthen its presence in the electric vehicle segment. Powertrain and off-road capability The is equipped with a dual-motor Quick-Wheel Drive (QWD) setup, enabling all-wheel drive and delivering a peak torque of 504 Nm. The front motor generates 158 PS, while the rear produces 238 PS. The SUV accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and supports fast charging that delivers 250 km of range in just 15 minutes. It includes six terrain modes—Normal, Grass/Snow, Mud/Gravel, Sand, Rock Crawl, and one user-configurable mode—along with Off-road Assist and a transparent underbody view for enhanced off-road usability. A multi-link Ultra Glide suspension system with Frequency Dependent Damping supports vehicle handling and ride comfort. Technology and driver assistance The vehicle offers automation features such as autonomous parking assist, summon mode, and reverse assist under its e-Valet suite. Visibility is enhanced with a 540-degree camera system, blind spot monitor, and an HD rearview mirror with built-in dashcam functionality. It also supports Digi Access, a digital key system using smartphones, NFC cards, and remote controls with UWB proximity technology. A 14.53-inch Harman infotainment display powered by Samsung Neo QLED and a JBL Black 10-speaker system with Dolby Atmos are included as standard. Mappls Auto navigation provides EV-specific features like battery-efficient routes, charger suggestions, and range mapping. Tata's connected car platform supports more than 55 features, including in-car UPI-based payments. Comfort and utility The interior includes power and ventilated front seats, memory functions, and amenities like rear headrests, sunshades, and an armrest with cup holders. A panoramic sunroof, multi-colour ambient lighting, and a BOSS mode that adjusts the front passenger seat add to cabin flexibility. Utility features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) power sharing capabilities, 65W USB-C chargers suitable for laptops, 502 litres of boot space (expandable to 999 litres), and an additional 35-litre front trunk on AWD variants. Safety and platform Safety is supported by over 20 Level 2 ADAS features , including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking. The SUV also offers seven airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, ESP with i-VBAC, hill descent control, and tyre pressure monitoring. Built on the architecture, the features 65 and 75 kWh battery options, high-torque front and rear motors, and Snapdragon-based digital electronics with over-the-air (OTA) capabilities. The model is available in four colour options and will also be offered in a Stealth Edition.
