Dharmendra converted to Islam to marry Hema Malini without divorcing Prakash Kaur, the truth will leave you surprised
In Bollywood cinema, there are many actors who go to great lengths for their partners. From changing names to changing religions, several celebs have made sure they do everything in the name of love! Today, we will talk about an actor who allegedly changed his religion to marry another woman from the industry despite already being married. This actor already had four kids, but he couldn't stop himself from falling in love with another person! This actor is none other than the He-Man of Bollywood, Dharmendra—a young Punjabi lad who fell head over heels in love with Hema Malini! Dharmendra started his career in Bollywood in 1960 with the film Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. However, his major breakthrough came five years later with the film Phool Aur Patthar. The movie established Dharmendra as an actor in the industry, and after this, he never looked back. Before entering the movie industry, Dharmendra, then hardly a 19-year-old boy, was already married to Prakash Kaur. The couple was blessed with two sons from this marriage—Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. After his hit in 1965, Dharmendra went on to do several films, and in 1970, he met Hema Malini officially when they worked together in Tum Haseen Main Jawaan. That same year marked the beginning of their love story. After witnessing many ups and downs, the two finally got married, and this is when the rumours of Dharmendra changing his religion to Islam started circulating among people. Rumours claimed that after falling in love, Dharmendra and Hema secretly had a nikaah ceremony and that the actor converted to Islam. Almost four decades later, in 2004, Dharmendra put a full stop to these rumours that lingered in the industry. He told Outlook in 2004, 'This allegation is totally incorrect. I am not the kind of man who will change his religion to suit his interests.' Dharmendra's first wife was madly in love with the actor and decided not to divorce him despite knowing about Dharmendra's love for Hema Malini. A year ago, Dharmendra and his first wife Prakash Kaur reunited to celebrate the wedding of their grandson, Karan Deol—Sunny Deol's son—with Drisha Acharya, the great-granddaughter of late filmmaker Bimal Roy.

Meet actor, who did over 200 films, gave 36 hits, 6 blockbusters, still has record of maximum flops, his name is..., not Mithun Chakraborty
Meet actor, who did over 200 films, gave 36 hits, 6 blockbusters, still has record of maximum flops, his name is..., not Mithun Chakraborty In the glamorous world of Bollywood, success and fame are always fleeting. One day, the actor is all over social media, giving hits back-to-back and winning a million hearts, the next day, they might become totally irrelevant. However, what meets the eye is quite limited. All we see as an audience are blockbuster hits, popular songs, and red carpet appearances. However, the other side of the spectrum also entails criticism, trolling, box office failures, and more. But what if one superstar provided Bollywood with some of its biggest hits and highest flop films? What if this same actor even appeared in low-budget B-grade films just to stay alive? The actor we are talking about is none other than Dharmendra- a true Bollywood legend, once considered the most handsome man in Indian films and the 'He-Man' of Bollywood. Dharmendra began his acting career in 1960 with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. His first major success came in 1962 with Anpadh. Thereafter, he became one of the most popular and successful stars in India. Throughout his life, he performed in over 200 films, of which 93 were blockbusters. He delivered 6 blockbusters, 7 superhits, and 36 hit movies. People still recall his memorable characters in Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Satyakam. Even in recent years, he appeared in the 2023 movie Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, proving that he is still a force to be reckoned with on screen. But Dharmendra's own journey also experienced some rough phases. As per IMDb, while he had made 85 individual films, 44 of these were flops. Altogether, he starred in 180 flop films during 1960-2013. Though it is claimed Mithun Chakraborty has the most flops, Dharmendra is never far behind him. There was also a time when Dharmendra acted in B-grade films like Paapi Devta, Juaari, Mahashakti Shaali, and Pyar Ka Karz. These roles didn't match his earlier fame, but they showed how even big stars sometimes take up any work they can to stay active in the industry. Nevertheless, Dharmendra never lost hope. He took up side roles and kept working in films with pride. He is among the few stars who were popular throughout generations. His career is a testament that even legends experience ups and downs, but real stars shine through everything.

In this way, he is also called the biggest superstar of Indian cinema. Dharmendra's career has always been shining. Sometimes he was surrounded by writers and sometimes by directors and producers. But there was a time when he did B-grade films out of necessity. Dharmendra, who has worked in more than 200 movies, has had more than 93 hits. Dharmendra's first hit was Anpadh in 1962, two years after his debut. After this, his journey as a lead continued till 2011, and he also gave a hit film like Chamla Pagla Deewana. In Hindi cinema, when stories came alive on screen and stars settled in the hearts of the audience, there was one name that not only created the plots but also contributed a lot in helping new artists reach great heights. That name was Arjun Hingorani. Director, producer, and sometimes playing the role of a villain on screen, this man gave many great films to Hindi cinema. On his death anniversary, let us know some special things about him. The history of Hindi cinema is incomplete without Arjun Hingorani, because he brought to the screen the person who later came to be known as 'He-Man'. Yes, we are talking about Dharmendra. In the year 1960, Hingorani made a film named 'Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere', in which he gave a chance to an unknown Punjabi youth. This was the time when that youth had neither cinematic experience nor a big name. Later, he shone brightly in the film world as a superstar named Dharmendra. Arjun Hingorani's sharp eyes saw the star hidden within him at that time, who was going to rule millions of hearts. 'Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere' was a romantic film in which Dharmendra's simplicity attracted the attention of the audience. Even though this film could not be a big hit commercially, it gave Dharmendra the platform from where his star shone. Later, the pair of Arjun Hingorani and Dharmendra made a lot of noise with films like 'Kab? Kyun? Aur Kahan?' (1970), 'Kahaani Kismat Ki' (1973), 'Khel Khiladi Ka' (1977) and 'Qatilon Ke Qatil' (1981). Arjun Hingorani's films used to have a special colour, which was woven around the letter 'K'. The titles of many of his films included three 'K' letters. His films were full of action, romance and drama, which touched the hearts of the audience. He also gave the first chance to the famous actress Sadhna. He said goodbye to the world on 5 May 2018 at the age of 91.
