'We're not civilised, won't take it to a corner': Kajol spills the beans about resolving conflicts with Ajay Devgn

Bollywood icon Kajol recently opened up about the dynamics of working with husband-actor Ajay Devgn. In a candid interview, Kajol shared insights into their 'rules of engagement' and how they resolve disagreements on sets. (Also read: Nysa Devgan has the funniest take on Kajol's fierce look in new Maa song: 'When she comes home from work…') Kajol, who is busy promoting her upcoming film Maa, spilled the beans about her working relationship with Ajay in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. "We do talk about the rules of engagement at work. 90% of the time, if he is going over the top, I just call him out on it, and he calls me out on it. We are not civilised and we will not take it to the corner," Kajol said. "But it does not happen very often, because first of all, we don't work that often together, we work once every five years. So when it does happen, it is pretty much out there and a 'free for all' kind of thing," Kajol said with a laugh. Kajol clarified that the couple, who have been married for over two decades, don't have shouting matches but have set boundaries that no one crosses. She added that she is much humbler on sets than otherwise. The Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge actor confessed she is more polite on film sets because it makes the environment more professional and easier. Directed by Vishal Furia, Maa is a mythological horror film produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, and Kumar Mangat Pathak. Jio Studios is presenting it in collaboration with Devgn Films. The film tells the gripping story of a mother who confronts dark, otherworldly forces in a desperate attempt to save her daughter from a deadly curse rooted in a haunted village. Blending elements of mythology and horror, Maa explores the unbreakable strength of maternal love and the divine fury of Goddess Kali. The film has an ensemble cast that includes Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Gopal Singh, Jitin Gulati, Kherin Sharma, Surjyasikha Das, Yaaneea Bharadwaj, and Roopkatha Chakraborty. It is set to release on 27 June in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali.

Anupam Kher gets teary-eyed as he leaves country for work amid India-Pak conflict: ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai is cathartic'

Veteran actor Anupam Kher has shared an emotional video talking about the growing tensions between India and Pakistan. Anupam opened about feeling heavy-hearted as he leaves the country for work at such a sensitive time. (Also see: Anupam Kher shares video from Jammu after India foils Pakistan's drone attacks: 'My cousin sent me this...') In the video, Anupam mentioned that he was packing and getting ready to go abroad but did not feel good even though his next directorial venture, Tanvi The Great, is achieving a great milestone. The film will have its world premiere at Cannes International film festival this year which starts on May 13. He captioned the video as, 'Country is the only one that can make you feel strong! Just like that! My mind was a little heavy, so I thought I should talk to you people from my heart. And didn't realise the video got longer! If you like it then watch it completely! If you like it more then share it too! Jai Hind! Hail India! #India #Hindustan.' A post shared by Anupam Kher (@anupampkher) In almost 9 minute long video, Anupam said, "Whenever I feel low, I think about where I started and where I've reached. That gives me strength. I realised I'm only eight years younger than my country. Bharat was born on August 15, 1947, and I was born on March 7, 1955. We've grown up together — like siblings.' Opening up about his humble beginnings, Anupam reminded his audience that he is grateful for all the success in his life and it is only because of the country he is born in. The Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge actor further mentioned, "I came to this city 43 years ago with ₹37 in my pocket. Today, I've completed 545 films. I live in a rented house, but I have a car, a bungalow, and, above all, I have my mother. Who gave me all this? This country did. Of course, we work hard, but it is this land that makes our dreams possible.' While closing the video, the actor said, "We are an incredible country. Tiranga, Bharat Mata Ki Jai, these are cathartic words. One feels catharsis after saying this. Are these words only important for soldiers? No, it is important for citizens too. We lost some brave soldiers recently. Their families have suffered an irreparable loss. We can still live on but their loss is forever. When you think of their pain, your own sorrow starts to feel small.' 'It felt nice after sharing with you. I don't know if one gets emotional too quickly at this age. I don't think about age too much, in fact I think I am a fearless person from inside. But when it comes to your country…then… it is only your country which can make you feel strong,' Anupam said. Many fans felt Anupam's sadness and shared that the actor's video made them cry, too. One fan wrote, 'I started you India n armed forces ....Bharat mata ki jay'. Another one said, 'This heavy vala heart sab ka hua he but aapko sun ke achha feel ho raha he ab (Everyone is feeling heavy-hearted but it feels good after listening to you)." A third user commented, 'Jai Hind sir, listening to your whole video, really this is the voice of the heart that brought tears in my eyes.' Another one wrote, 'Mein video banana chahta hoon but I think I am introvert but apne mere dil ki baat keh di .. love you sir (I wanted to make a video but you spoke what I have been feeling all this while)' On Sunday, the Armed Forces held a press briefing on India's ongoing Operation Sindoor and informed the country that over 100 terrorists, including high-value targets such as Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf and Mudasir Ahmed, were eliminated during the military operation. During the briefing, the DGMO also revealed that around 35 to 40 Pakistani Army personnel were killed in artillery and small arms fire exchanges along the Line of Control between May 7 and 10. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the nation at 8 pm today, in his first address since India launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation against Pakistan-based terrorists following the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 26 people.

Kajol introduced actor Shubhangi as the lead actor of Anupam Kher's upcoming directorial Tanvi The Great at a press event today. (Also read: Tanvi The Great first look: Anupam Kher shares intriguing glimpse of mystery lead, wonders if she 'has superpower) In a video, Kajol was posing for the camerapersons at a press conference on Monday which had Anupam as the MC, his mother Dulari and the film's lead actor Shubhangi in attendance. Suddenly, Dulari lost balance and was about to suffer a fall when Kajol held her by the arm and helped her regain balance. Anupam then thanked Kajol for gracing the occasion and and blessed her for the lovely gesture. Kajol laughed and said, "Aur main aadhi gir bhi gayi (And, I took half a tumble)," to which Anupam said that it means it will bring more luck to the film. A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) Anupam and Kajol have worked in severa films together which include Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Aaapke Dil Mein Rehte Hai. Tanvi The Great will mark Anupam's second directorial film after 23 years. "When I directed Om Jai Jagadish, it wasn't a story by me. Still, it felt good. I was excited that I was an actor who was getting the opportunity to direct. It was a really good cast... I was more excited about the excitement of directing a film. I then felt that I am an actor by profession. So, when I want to make a film, a story I want to tell and feel from my heart - when I get a story like which I want to share with the world, I would direct a film. So, it took me 23 years to find such a story...I worked on the story for 3-3.5 years. We shot this last year and this year, we will bring it to the world," Anupam told ANI in an interview. Released under the banner of Anupam Kher Studios, the film features music by Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani and is produced in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). The film will have its world premier at the Cannes film festival's Marché du Film section next month
