MSEDCL settles 341 cases in Lok Adalat

(MSEDCL) settled 341 cases of consumers with outstanding bills of Rs 1.5 crore in the recently held National Lok of these, 266 cases totalling Rs 65 lakh were settled in the Rastapeth area, 42 cases totalling Rs 43 lakh were settled in the Pune Rural area and 33 cases amounting to Rs 36 lakh were settled in the Ganeshkhind advisor in charge, Dinkar Tidke, legal officers Neetal Haase, Ganesh Satpute, Anjali Chougule, along with engineers, accounts officers and employees from MSEDCL participated in the lok MSEDCL settled two cases involving electricity theft under the Electricity Act, with the settlement of nearly Rs 60 Oct 2024, MSEDCL had settled pending dues of electricity bills worth Rs 2.16 crore of 676 consumers in the Pune zone through a lok adalat camp.
It included settlements of six electricity theft cases totalling Rs 34.7 commercial and industrial consumers in Pune district owe close to Rs 200 crore in
outstanding dues
to MSEDCL as of March, according to earlier information given by the power utility company. MSEDCL regularly initiates action against defaulting consumers by disconnecting their electricity supply to increase rate of bill payments and issues advisories to consumers urging them to pay their bills.
