Kanpur: A peace committee meeting was held at the Babupurwa police station under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner of police (South), Dipendra Nath Chaudhary regarding celebration of the upcoming Jyeshtha Ganga Dussehra and Bakrid festivals in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. Representatives of various religions, corporators, social workers, and police officers were present at the meeting. Apart from providing necessary guidelines, the officials made an appeal for cooperation from all religions to maintain a peaceful environment. The officials said that no prayers should be conducted on the streets, and that prior information and mutual coordination for religious events are mandatory. Emphasis was laid on better traffic management arrangements, including deployment of additional police forces, female police officers, and PAC at key locations. Monitoring through CCTV and drones should be done. On this occasion, additional deputy commissioner of police (South) Mahesh Kumar was also present. The official instructed that all religious activities must be conducted within designated premises and proper permission must be obtained beforehand. Event organisers were advised to coordinate with local authorities and share complete details of their planned activities. For smooth traffic flow, comprehensive arrangements will be made around religious sites. Traffic diversions and parking spaces will be clearly marked. Additional police personnel will be deployed at strategic points to prevent congestion and ensure public safety. Special security measures include deployment of women police officers to assist female devotees and the installation of CCTV cameras at crucial locations. PAC units will be stationed at sensitive areas for rapid response if needed. Drone surveillance will be used to monitor crowd movements and maintain law and order. Community leaders and religious representatives present at the meeting assured their full cooperation to the administration. They agreed to help spread awareness about the guidelines among their respective communities. Local corporators and social workers offered suggestions for better coordination between different groups.
