Disney changes look of iconic character as Halloween planning for theme parks begins
With Disney already looking ahead to its notorious Halloween celebration, there has been a noticeable change to one of its beloved characters.
In a new post about the upcoming Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, some eagle-eyed fans noticed a change to Jack Skellington from the popular animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Previously, Jack had donned a much eerier mask, boasting a bulbous head and gigantic eyes, that cut off just above the park performer's mouth - a feature which many fans said let the look down.
But now, Disney has decided to give the costume a much-needed update.
This year's overhaul means the new look is almost identical to the iconic movie version of the character.
The new mask has a much smaller surface area that fully engulfs the wearer's face to continue the illusion.
Jack's mouth is also now elongated across his face in a style that mirrors the film.
And dozens of die-hard Disney fans ran to the comments to heap praise on the changes.
'Thank you for changing that horrific mask,' someone wrote.
'Finally, the Jack we deserve,' another added.
'Screaming, crying, throwing up!!!!!! The mask!!!!
'Are you kidding me?!?!? I'm in love!!!!' one person enthusiastically shared.
'Oh my God, THERE he is. Jack, we've been waiting for you for so long!!!!!' someone said.
'Now he is really looking like himself. So excited for Disney's Halloween season,' another user shared.
'Love the upgrade, Jack!,' someone wrote, while another said: 'Love the new look, Jack.'
Another said: 'Finally, Jack actually looks like Jack.'
Another eagle-eyed fan also pointed out that Sally - from the same animated classic - had been given an update as well.
'While Jack looks SO much better, I haven't seen a single comment about Sally's new makeup! Go off, cosmetology,' they wrote.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 15 through Halloween night.
It involves special trick-or-treating trails, festive snacks, and live entertainment.
The magical park offers exclusive character greetings with Jack and Sally from the beloved film.
