More info Strictly Come Dancing finalist Tasha Ghouri has candidly spoken about the "difficulties" she's encountered due to "discrimination" over her disability. Tasha, who was born deaf, admitted the "world is sad and scary". Last year, millions tuned in as Tasha gracefully danced her way to the Strictly final with professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec. However, they narrowly missed out on the coveted Glitterball trophy, which was won by Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell. Tasha first gained public attention when the 26- year-old was chosen to participate in the 2022 series of Love Island, where she finished fourth, leaving the show coupled up with her now ex-boyfriend, Andrew Le Page. Continuing her support for those battling serious health conditions, she recently attended the Disney Wish UK event. This collaborative event between Disney and the Make-A-Wish charity saw her meeting families at Hoar Cross Hall, Staffordshire for this year's annual gathering. The event gives hundreds of children with serious illnesses the opportunity to meet their favourite Disney characters. She expressed: "Yeah, I do still face difficulties with that today, but, you know, it does not compare at all to anything to what these children go through every day." She continued: "Everyone has their own difficulties with different kinds of disabilities, illnesses, but you know, these children day in day out, live in a hospital, and, you know, for Make A Wish to actually provide a day where it's all accessible, they can travel there, and they look after them." It's nice to have that positive light in their lives." Reflecting on the time she spent with the children at Hoar Cross Hall in Staffordshire, Tasha recalled it "was such a beautiful, magical day, that I look back on and feel grateful to be part of". After she had been with Andrew Le Page after meeting on Love Island, their split was announced earlier this year after three years together. Following her split from Andrew in February this year, Tasha revealed she had kept their shared dog, Luna.
