Collector calls for creating conducive atmosphere for entrepreneurs in Sri Sathya Sai district

Sri Sathya Sai district Collector T.S. Chetan on Thursday called on the District Industries Centre (DIC) and bankers to provide encouragement to active and aspiring entrepreneurs, as 'industrial development is crucial for the district's economic growth.' During the District Industries Promotion and Export Committee meeting at the Collectorate here, the Collector reviewed the status of industrial approvals to the entrepreneurs, issued through the Single Desk Portal. He informed the officials of the allied departments to work in coordination to strengthen the presence of industries in the district. 'We need to have more and more employment opportunities. For this, industrial growth is essential. There should be a conducive environment for setting up of industries and encouragement to the entrepreneurs. Then, we can expect a positive response for new industrial investments,' the Collector said. Mr. Chetan urged the bankers and the District Industries Centre (DIC) to adopt a liberal and friendly approach towards the entrepreneurs and devise proper methodologies to extend financial incentives and support to new investors. The Collector directed the officials to ensure the timely approval of new applications from the entrepreneurs and accord permissions for 21 new industrial units within the stipulated deadlines. He also reviewed the subjects related to concessions, investment subsidies, electricity tariffs, and interest rates for the entrepreneurs. The officials informed the Collector that as many as 37 applications were cleared. Deputy Director of Industries Mohammad Shafi, Extension wing officials, and senior officials of the Agriculture, Horticulture, and Social Welfare departments were present.
