Fleet flagged off to raise awareness for May 10 Lok Adalat in Bhopal
Bhopal: With an eye on easing the burden of pending
court cases
, an awareness drive for the May 10 Lok Adalat was launched in Bhopal.
At the Lok Adalat,
legal disputes
can be settled through mutual consent without the long wait and expenses of the regular court proceedings.
Principal district judge and chairman of the
District Legal Aid Authority
, Manoj Kumar Srivastava, flagged off a fleet of publicity vehicles from the district court premises on Monday.
These vehicles will travel through various urban and rural areas of Bhopal, playing jingles and flex banners aiming to make the general public aware about the benefits of the Lok Adalat.

Conducted under the guidance of Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, it is the second Lok Adalat for 2025.
Various types of disputes can be settled here such as civil disputes, family issues, electricity and civic disputes over bills and penalty, property and real estate related disputes and even criminal cases where compounding of offence is possible can be settled at the Lok Adalat, outside the traditional court.
Several judges and officials were present at the flag off ceremony. These included the principal district judge and special judge Rajarshi Srivastava, district judge Sanjay Kumar Shahi, district judge Santosh Kaul, chief judicial magistrate Agnindh Kumar Dwivedi and secretary of the Bhopal Legal Services Authority Sunit Agrawal.
Also in attendance were district legal aid officer BM Singh, president of the District Bar Association Deepak Khare, other association members and officials from the electricity department.
Officials hope the campaign will encourage people from both cities and villages to take advantage of the proposed Lok Adalat and resolve legal disputes easily.
It will also help reduce the burden of cases on the courts as the number of pending cases will reduce, said a press communique issued by the district administration.
