Union min launches healthcare initiatives in Srikakulam GGH
Visakhapatnam: Civil aviation minister K Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated a Boeing healthcare initiative at the govt general hospital (GGH) in Srikakulam. This initiative, carried out in partnership with 'Doctors For You' (DFY), aims to strengthen healthcare delivery in the region by equipping the hospital with a range of essential diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
These upgrades are designed to enhance patient care, support medical staff, and increase the hospital's capacity to address evolving healthcare challenges.
Serving a predominantly rural population of approximately 2.8 million, the hospital plays a crucial role in delivering medical services to underprivileged communities. As part of this initiative, the hospital has received advanced medical equipment including an autoclave for sterilising instruments, BERA and PTA devices for diagnosing hearing impairments, an ELISA reader for detecting infectious diseases, and an HPLC system for diagnosing haematological disorders such as sickle cell anaemia and thalassemia.
The other equipment includes a CBC/haematology analyser for blood analysis, a ureteroscope for renal surgeries, and a hospital laundry system to ensure hygiene and asepsis throughout the facility.
