He was taken to the local hospital in a private vehicle but died there, according to Hechos y Derecho. 'With deep pain, we communicate the death of Enzo Pittau. We are shocked and affected by this loss. We appreciate your solidarity and understanding in this difficult time for our club and Enzo Pittau's family,' his club, Don Orione, wrote. Pittau had reportedly recently returned to Argentina after a spell playing in Europe. A witness told Diario Chaco via Contexto Tucuman: 'I was in the middle of the match and Pittau fell to the ground. It was as if he had fainted. ' I can still see it, and it's very painful. Enzo Pittau - dad to a baby girl - became visibly weak on the pitch and lost his footing numerous times before he collapsed to the ground. The 35-year-old was rushed to a local hospital where it was found that he had suffered a cardiac arrest. He fell ill 41 minutes into the first half of the game, which took place on June 1. Enzo played for Don Orione, and his team were playing in the second leg of the Argentinian Federativo tournament's second phase against Club Unión. Just hours before his death, he shared a message online which related to the football match. Enzo wrote: "The faith and God in between. Today we play with soul and life." ‌ ‌ His words were accompanied by a photo of his football shirt, and his shin guards which were adorned with photos of his baby daughter. The Chaco league, based in Argentina, has been left devastated by his death. He died in Machagai, north of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Enzo had played for several Chaco clubs and even tried his luck in European teams in Italy, Switzerland and Spain. Local press reported that had returned back to Chaco due to being close to his family after his grandfather suffered problems with his health. Don Orione reportedly released a statement in regards to his death. They said: "With deep pain, we communicate the death of Enzo Pittau. We are shocked and affected by this loss. We appreciate your solidarity and understanding in this difficult time for our club and Enzo Pittau's family." It comes after a 15-year-old footballer died in Mexico after collapsing on the pitch. Atziri Ledif Galeana Valencia was attended to by medics but sadly died in the ambulance on her way to hospital. Valencia was in action for Chivas against Toriz in the final of a tournament on Saturday when she collapsed, reportedly with heatstroke. She was given CPR and oxygen as well as cold compresses to cool her down. After being rushed to a nearby hospital, she was sadly pronounced dead on arrival. The match and tournament were suspended in the wake of the incident, while scheduled games on Sunday were also cancelled.
