Sandoval County Sheriff asking for help identifying woman found dead two years ago
SANDOVAL COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Sandoval County Sheriff's Office needs the community's help identifying a woman found dead under a bridge nearly two years ago. On April 18, 2023, walkers in the Cibola National Forest discovered the body of a woman partially submerged in a creek under a bridge along Route 165. 'Since that day, investigators have been attempting to identify this woman, who we are now calling Sandoval Star. This was due to she had a dark blue shirt on with red stars,' said Detective Donald Chewning, Sandoval County Sheriff's Office.

Her remains were in terrible condition, so they had to come up with a composite rendering of what they think she looked like. She's described as Latino or Hispanic, five feet tall, between 15 and 30 years old. Investigators found graffiti near her body and are looking for whoever put it there. They added that the graffiti might be unrelated.
