Mushrif appeals to Gokul chairman Arun Dongale to resign
Kolhapur
: NCP leader and minister
Hasan Mushrif
has appealed
Arun Dongale
, chairman of Kolhapur Jilha Dudh Utpadak Sangh, popularly known as
Gokul dairy
, to tender resignation as early as possible.
Dongale has claimed that CM Devendra Fadnavis and DCM Eknath Shinde had told him not to resign, putting Mushrif in a spot.
BJP has threatened to complain against minister Mushrif for allegedly blocking Mahayuti's candidate from becoming chairman of Gokul cooperative dairy. The party's district president Nathaji Patil said that Mushrif was not taking pro-Mahayuti stance even though he became a minister with support from Mahayuti.
"He is helping Mahavikas Aghadi by not letting Mahayuti candidate to become chairman of the dairy. Mushrif is part of Mahayuti and he should follow alliance dharma," said Patil.
Local Mahayuti leaders, especially BJP leaders, are demanding that MVA parties should not be part of any ruling alliance with the support of any Mahayuti parties, especially NCP. The
Mahayuti alliance
is likely to face difficulties in contesting upcoming elections for local bodies, such as municipal corporation, Zilla Parishad together.
"I am going to meet CM and DCM Shinde in next couple of days and inform that the cooperative institutions are run cordially by leaders of all parties.

There is no party politics in the elections to cooperative institutions. I think both will agree to that. Also, I hope Dongale will tender resignation in a day or two and keep the word," said Mushrif.
Four years ago, the election panel led by Mushrif, MLA vinay Kore, MLC Satej Patil, MLA's Prakash Abitkar and Chandradip Narke toppled the panel led by Mahadevrao Mahadik and late Congress leader P N Patil.
Dongale claimed that he got a call from CM and DCM and he met them at Sahyadri Guest House on May 13.
He said they told him to see that the post of chairman goes to someone associated with Mahayuti and not Mahavikas Aghadi.
Asked about the claim made by Dongale, Satej Patil said, "I don't think CM and DCM has advised Dongale something like this. I think both will never indulge in district level politics. We will try to solve the issue amicably."
Dongale comes from NCP faction of ruling alliance led by Mushrif but has developed 'close relations' with BJP and Shiv Sena's top leaders.
Dongale was not available for comment. The leaders of incumbent panel along with their 20 directors of Gokul dairy are going to meet in private and decide future course of action. They have the option to oust Dongale from the post of chairman by passing a vote of no confidence against him.
