DoubleTree hotel kicks off partnership with Little Rock Compassion Center

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A downtown hotel kicked off a new relationship with a central Arkansas ministry in order to help people in need. The Doubletree by Hilton delivered a van load of pillows, blankets and bedding from the hotel to the Little Rock Compassion Center on Roosevelt Road Friday afternoon. Doubletree general manager Chris Smigel says this is the beginning of a commitment by the hotel to find creative ways to be of assistance to the compassion center. 'There's a lot of people that are looking for help, and pastor provides that on a daily basis, so anything we can do to make his life a little bit easier to get some comfort and compassion to others, we want to be a part of that,' Smigel said. 'With all these disasters that we're having, that's happening around us, a lot of people don't have the money to replace the household needs, and they come into our shelter like this and pick some of it up,' Holloway said. The compassion center is a nonprofit providing homeless, disadvantaged and chemically dependent people with food and clothing as well as biblical counseling since 1998.
