Checotah man found guilty of felon in possession of firearm
Douglas Ray Lollis, Jr., 31, of Checotah, was found guilty by a federal jury on one count of felon in possession of firearm.
The jury trial concluded Tuesday with the guilty verdict.
During the trial, the United States presented evidence that on Dec. 22, 2022, Lollis pawned a SAR 9mm pistol, which he possessed illegally. At the time of that interaction, Lollis was prohibited from owning firearms after having been previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.
The guilty verdict was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Lollis will remain out on bond pending completion of a presentence report and sentencing.
