Pregnant Kristen Doute Gives a Glimpse Into Her 'Ethereal' Nursery Ahead of Welcoming First Baby (Exclusive)

Kristen Doute is sharing a peek into her little one's nursery. The Valley star, who is currently pregnant with her first baby with boyfriend Luke Broderick, worked with designer John McClain to decorate her dream nursery for her baby-to-be. Sharing exclusive photos with PEOPLE, Doute got candid about what had to go into the space — and how much input Broderick had. "Every last detail was important," she tells PEOPLE. "The furniture, the aesthetic, the longevity of the pieces in the room. I wanted the nursery to have a completely different feel than the rest of the house." "I wanted warm colors, and even though I'm having a girl, I wanted to stay away from the pink Barbie feel. I love boho aesthetic, ethereal, and I had to incorporate plants. I love having real plants all over the house as it's great for the quality of the air in the home. Plus, Luke has a green thumb!" Doute enlisted McClain, who had already designed her first home and her James Mae office, to get started on the project. "I love working with John because he looks at things with a bird's eye view and can visualize the best way to make the most of the space," she says. "It was important to me to ensure that nothing was too 'precious' — that it was durable, practical and that everything could be wiped down and cleaned." As for whether Broderick helped out with the project, the 34-year-old says he did have a little bit of sway. "I might have made a few suggestions!" he says. "He helped me be decisive," clarifies Doute. "I would say he was the sous chef of the project — I made the decisions but he certainly helped make all this happen." Now that she's in her third trimester, Doute is ready to meet her little one — and to be done with her pregnancy. "I am very ready," she admits. "I'm not going to lie, and I think it's important for moms to not sugar coat anything. I am physically miserable." "She says all the time that she feels 'large and in charge,' " says Broderick. "She's very aware of her body at this moment." Although she's ready to be done, the Vanderpump Rules alum admits that there is something she's a little anxious about. "I would say I'm the most anxious about actually giving birth, just what the experience will be," says Doute. "You can have a plan, but there really isn't a plan at the end of the day. It's all up to her." "I would say I'm the most excited about no longer being pregnant! And, as I've said before, just seeing what her personality will be like," she adds. Broderick says he's just can't wait to meet their little one. "I can't wait to touch her and interact with her. I'm very excited," he explains. Thinking ahead to the next few years, Doute and Broderick share that they've thought about what kind of parents they are going to be. "Luke thinks I'm going to be a helicopter parent for sure, but I actually think I'm going to be pretty chill," says Doute. "She's definitely going to buy our daughter way too much stuff," Broderick adds. "I think Luke is going to be the stricter parent for sure and I'm going to be more relaxed. I'm sure I'll be more nervous in the beginning but then I think I"m going to relax and be a more chill mom," explains Doute. Until then, there is one thing Doute is looking forward to after giving birth — her first meal. "A cocktail," she says. "A dirty martini with blue cheese olives." Read the original article on People
