Millionaire's son Adrian Bonar murdered by Mexican drug gang
The army veteran son of a Scottish businessman was killed by a Mexican drug gang, it has been reported.
Adrian Bonar's decomposing body was found wrapped in plastic in the boot of a Lexus after it had been dumped under a bridge.
His father, the entrepreneur Dr Brian Bonar originally from Greenock, ran companies in the financial sector and restaurants in California.
Martin Lopez Torres, 44, a cartel member, recently pleaded guilty to murdering the father of two and was sentenced to 28 years to life in prison.
Just before his trial was due to start he admitted shooting Bonar as part of a plea deal. It took prosecutors in the US six years to get Torres to stand trial.
