Massage therapist ‘Dr. Ken' charged with sexual assault, Richmond RCMP say
A massage therapist has been accused of sexually assaulting a client in Richmond, B.C., following a months-long investigation, authorities announced Wednesday.
Richmond RCMP said the alleged assault was reported at a massage clinic on Alexandra Road last August.
One charge of sexual assault has since been approved against massage therapist Jiajian Sun, 52, who also goes by 'Dr. Ken.'
Authorities said they are continuing to investigate the allegations, and released an image of Sun along with a call for anyone with information relevant to the case to come forward.
'Allegations of sexual assault by someone in a position of professional trust are extremely concerning,' said Cpl. Melissa Lui, in a statement.
'We believe there may be people with additional information that could assist in advancing the investigation, and we urge them to contact us.'
Richmond RCMP said the charge against Sun was approved on May 22, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Officers took him into custody on June 18, and he has since been released on conditions that prevent him from being alone with 'any patient or client, without another adult present, for the duration of any treatment,' authorities said in a news release.
The RCMP asked anyone with information to contact the Richmond detachment at 604-278-1212.
