Man faces charges after traffic stop uncovers drugs and weapon

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Henry County Sheriff said a man has been charged after a traffic stop when a K-9 was allegedly alerted to the presence of drugs on April 7. According to the sheriff, a deputy with the Drug Interdiction Unit pulled over a 2007 Jeep Cherokee on Monday for an alleged traffic violation. While stopped, a search was conducted by a K-9, during which allegedly became alerted to the presence of narcotics. The driver, who has been identified as Charles Junior McMillian, was allegedly found to be in possession of the following items, which were then seized: Over two ounces of suspected methamphetamine Suspected heroin Digital scales Approximately $1,616.00 in U.S. currency A 9mm handgun 2007 Jeep Cherokee Man pleads not guilty to first-degree murder in Crystal Springs McMillian has been arrested and charged with the following: Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I or II Controlled Substances (suspected methamphetamine) Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I or II Controlled Substances (suspected heroin) Possess a Schedule I or II drug while possessing a firearm Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Violent Felon Driving While Revoked McMillian is currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
