On May 5th, Pawandeep was travelling to Delhi to catch a flight to Ahmedabad for an event when he was involved in a car accident near Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. He was then rushed to the hospital. Recently, a fan gave a lovely gift to the singer while he remains hospitalised following multiple surgeries. On his Instagram, a crew posted a photo of a child handing him a greeting card, leaving everyone emotional. The singer posted a heartfelt Instagram story where he can be seen lying on a bed as he recovers from multiple surgeries following his serious car accident. In the photo, a child gives him the 'Get well soon' card, bringing an adorable smile to his face. After Pawandeep gets better, the child said he would like to learn how to play the guitar from him. Furthermore, Pawandeep can be seen singing the heartfelt song Duaa from the movie Shanghai in a widely shared video on social media. The inspiring clip was first shared by his Indian Idol co-contestant Sayli Kamble. Even though he was wearing a hospital gown and had medical equipment in his hand, the singer's magical voice still moved everyone. He captioned the post: 'Get well soon, Bhai humara strong hai bahut." On May 5, Pawandeep Rajan was involved in an accident near the Chopla Chauraha overbridge. He was riding in an MG Hector, which collided with a parked truck. Along with him, Rahul Singh, the driver, and his friend Ajay Mehra were also in the vehicle. All three were initially taken to a local hospital and later referred to a more advanced medical facility. According to a senior police officer, Rahul Singh, the driver, allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, losing control of the vehicle and causing this unfortunate incident. Later, an official statement was issued by his team, providing fans with an update on Pawandeep's health and the accident. The Indian Idol 12 champion revealed that he underwent a six-hour surgery after suffering from severe fractures and a few minor wounds. Majority of listeners tune in to Spotify during Ramadan's pre-dawn hours
DUBAI: Streaming and content consumption habits change as audiences adjust to different routines during Ramadan, according to new data from Spotify. This year saw a return of the streaming platform's Ramadan Hub, with a specially curated selection of playlists, music and podcasts. Based on an analysis of customers' streaming habits during the first two weeks of Ramadan, Spotify found the majority of Saudi listeners tune in at around 3 a.m. Spiritual, peaceful and relaxing audio is the most popular choice, with listenership of such playlists increasing by more than 3,000 percent. 'With the Ramadan Hub, Spotify continues to be a companion for every moment of the holy month,' Mark Abou Jaoude, the platform's head of music for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan told Arab News. The playlist with the highest increase in listeners (3,750 percent) was 'Duaa,' which features prayers and supplications. Similarly, 'Ramadaniyat,' which features traditional Islamic songs, saw a streaming rise of almost 1,890 percent. Users' love of TV dramas is reflected in their streaming habits with the 'Titrat Ramadan' playlist recording a 2,900 percent increase in streams. This features songs that appear in popular shows at this time, known as 'titrat' and traditionally sung by Arab pop stars. Another playlist gaining popularity is 'Cooking Time,' which saw the number of streams increase by 743 percent. This serves as a cooking companion and features songs such as Nancy Ajram's 'Aam Betaala' Feek,' Marwan Khoury's 'Kel El Qasayed' and Amr Diab's 'El Kalam Leek.' 'Over the past two years, local podcast listening hours have increased by nearly 90 percent (on Spotify),' Abou Jaoude said. Spotify has also seen significant increases in the popularity of local podcasts such as 'Finjan with Abdul Rahman Abu Maleh' and 'Sawalif Business.' Users are also listening to lighter entertainment content, such as 'Kanabat al-Sabt,' 'Saturday Couch' and the 'Abjoorah Podcast,' as well as religious shows like the 'Omam Podcast,' which puts a modern spin on the stories of prophets. 'These shifting listening habits reflect the growing trend of audio in setting the atmosphere for these shared experiences during the month,' said Abou Jade. 'It's great to see how our Saudi listeners use Spotify to enrich their Ramadan journey and deepen their connections during this meaningful time.'

iGA Represents Bahrain at 56th United Nations Statistical Commission Session
TDT | Manama A delegation from Bahrain's Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) participated in the 56th Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission, held in New York City, USA. The delegation included Ms. Duaa Sultan Mohamed, Deputy Chief Executive for Statistics and Population Registry, and Ms. Shatha Mohammed Ismaeel, Acting Director of the Economic Statistics Directorate. The annual session, which brings together statisticians and statistical policymakers from member states, serves as a platform to discuss strategies and methodologies that shape the global statistical landscape. Bahrain's delegation actively engaged in various meetings and parallel sessions, including discussions with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States Center and follow-up meetings related to the 13th session of the Islamic Cooperation Statistical Committee. Ms. Duaa highlighted that the commission addressed several critical topics across economic, demographic, social, geographic, and environmental dimensions. Key areas of focus included data and indicators related to the Post-2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), data foresight, open data utilization, the role of big data in official statistics, and the enhancement and management of statistical systems. The session also reviewed the fundamental principles of official statistics and the latest advancements in statistical methodologies and preparation techniques. In a demonstration of regional solidarity, Ms. Duaa extended Bahrain's congratulations to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates on their recent membership in the United Nations Statistical Commission. She emphasized the significance of this membership in strengthening Arab and Gulf representation in global statistical forums, contributing to the advancement of national statistical systems, and supporting the achievement of the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
