14 May 2025 14:30 DUBAI (ALETIHAD)His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, visited on Wednesday the World Police Summit 2025 exhibition, being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of exhibition, which runs until May 15, showcases state-of-the-art artificial intelligence tools and next-generation security solutions aimed at enhancing safety systems and reinforcing the highest standards of community his visit, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed was accompanied by His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. His Highness was briefed on the latest innovations and advanced technologies shaping the future of policing and public safety.H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed was also briefed on advanced applications in digital investigations, data protection, and biometric technologies, including facial and fingerprint recognition. His Highness's visit also included a tour of pavilions of government entities and international law enforcement agencies, where H.H. was briefed on their latest initiatives, strategic projects, and successful experiences in enhancing security and public safety. Featuring more than 200 exhibitors from leading global companies and institutions, the World Police Summit 2025 highlights cutting-edge technologies including AI-driven data analytics, geospatial information systems, forensic sciences, cybersecurity, and unmanned aerial systems.

Sheikh Mohammed issues Decree on Board of Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council

In his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister, issued Decree No. (21) of 2025 forming the Board of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. According to the Decree, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri will serve as Vice Chairman of the Board. Other members of the Board include Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, along with representatives from Dubai Police, Dubai Customs, the General Directorate for Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai Airports, Dubai Air Navigation Services, Dubai Maritime Authority, Digital Dubai Authority, and Dubai Municipality, in addition to the Secretary-General of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council. The representatives of these entities will be nominated by the heads of their respective organisations. This Decree is effective from the date of its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.

H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, visited the Dubai Customs headquarters and reviewed its strategic development and operational enhancement initiatives. During the visit, he emphasised Dubai Customs' critical role in bolstering Dubai's integrated security framework and reinforcing safety at its border crossing points. Accompanying H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed were Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, and His Excellency Omar Ali Salem Al Maidoor, Secretary General of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council. Commenting on the occasion, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor said: 'In line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we are committed to ensuring the highest levels of safety and security at our border crossing points.' He commended Dubai Customs' continuous efforts to launch strategic initiatives to enhance its leadership in the customs sector and foster a world-class customs system, aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33's goal of driving sustainable economic growth. He received a detailed briefing from Dr. Abdulla Busenad on the organisation's strategic projects and initiatives, developed with the support of Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation. Commenting on the visit, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem expressed his gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed for his visit to Dubai Customs and highlighted his commitment to supporting the organisation's development. 'H.H.'s guidance underscores the leadership's focus on strengthening government operations, driving continuous development, and raising the efficiency of customs operations, all of which contribute to reinforcing the city's position as a global trade hub,' he said. Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, said: 'Dubai Customs continues to implement innovative, technology-driven initiatives to achieve high performance and security, supporting Dubai's strategic goals and enhancing the role of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council in safeguarding our borders.' Omar Ali Salem Al Maidoor, Secretary General of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, stressed the importance of collective efforts in border security. 'H.H. emphasised the need for enhanced cooperation and information exchange between Dubai Customs and the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council to ensure optimal integration and efficiency.' A key initiative highlighted during the visit was the Hatta Gateway project, whose design has been officially approved. This advanced, integrated customs centre will enhance security systems at the border through cutting-edge technological solutions, including artificial intelligence.
