Duck Festival returning to New Lanark this May bank holiday
The Duck Festival will be held on Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25 and will promise adventure and splashing fun for the whole family.
One of the main attractions will be duck races at noon and 2pm each day with prizes for the first, second, and third-place winners.
The festival also features a treasure hunt for hidden ducks, where successful hunters can claim an ice lolly as a prize.
Children can let their creativity run wild in the 'Craft Corner', crafting their own duck masks to wear in the Duck Parade at 3pm, where they march behind the charming mascot, Bubbles the Duck, from one end of the lade to the other.
The best duck mask will be awarded at 3.15pm.
Tickets are available on the New Lanark website for £7.
Festival-goers will also have the chance to meet and take pictures with Bubbles at the historic New Lanark Waterwheel.
Additional activities, available for a small fee, include face painting, carousel rides, and soft play, ensuring an action-packed day out for everyone.
Tickets are priced at £7 per child, with free entry for adults accompanying them.
The ticket times correspond with the duck race sessions at either 12pm or 2pm, but families are welcome to arrive from 10am to fully enjoy all the day's offerings.
A spokesperson for the festival organisers said: "Following the model of our popular Easter Sunday Duck Race event, this festival promises to be another unforgettable experience filled with community spirit and family fun."
