Ho-Chunk Nation launches ‘Dugout Canoe' Journey with four day travel across Wisconsin
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Ho-Chunk Nation's annual Dugout Canoe Jersey launched off on Monday from the Fox River Metro Boat Launch, beginning a four-day journey that will wrap up in Milwaukee.
The annual journey is in its fourth year, organized by Ho-Chunk Nation Tribal Historic Preservation Officer William L. Quackenbush, and it celebrates traditions and waterways of the state's Indigenous people.

The event honors canoe routes and showcases the craftsmanship of dugout canoes, with examples at the Neville Public Museum.
The journey lasts four days, canoeing through Sturgeon Bay, Whitefish Dunes State Park, all culminating in a stop at Milwaukee's Lake Park.
