And two-time defending national champion UConn returns to Madison Square Garden to try to remind everybody why the Huskies are so dangerous in March. CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WNCT) — Four more games tipped off in the men's ACC Basketball Tournament Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2025. In the day's opener, No. 9 Virginia took on No. 8 Georgia Tech with the winner moving on to take overall top seed Duke Thursday. Isaac McKneely did his best to lead the Cavaliers to victory with 27 points but Georgia Tech, behind 21 from Duncan Powell and 16 from Baye Ndongo, was too much. The Yellow Jackets got the 66-60 win and will move on to take on the Blue Devils. No. 5 seed North Carolina got back to winning ways with a blowout, 76-56, win over No. 12 seed Notre Dame. Charlotte's own Jae'Lyn Withers led the Tar Heels with 21 points, Ven-Allen Lubin added 17 and R.J. Davis scored 13. The night games featured an old PAC-12 rivalry now taking place in the ACC between 15th-seeded California and No. 7 seed Stanford. A back-and-forth game down to a few plays and the Cardinal pulled out the 78-73 victory to advance to take on No. 2 seed Louisville Thursday. No. 14 seed Syracuse was back on the floor after a win over Florida State to take on the No. 6 seed SMU. The Mustangs were mighty in the second half, running away from The Orange for a 73-53 win. SMU will match up against No. 3 seed Clemson Thursday. Thursday's games include: No. 1 Duke vs. No. 8 Georgia Tech, noon No. 4 Wake Forest vs. No. 5 North Carolina, 2:30 p.m. No. 2 Louisville vs. No. 7 Stanford, 7 p.m. No. 3 Clemson vs. No. 6 SMU, 9:30 p.m. You can see the bracket here. ATLANTA (AP) — Baye Ndongo scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, Duncan Powell added 23 points and 10 rebounds and Georgia Tech beat N.C. State 87-62 on Saturday. Lance Terry added 15 points, Jaeden Mustaf came off the bench for 13 points and Naithan George had 12 assists for the Yellow Jackets (15-14, 9-9 ACC). Georgia Tech outscored N.C. State 21-2 off 14 Wolfpack turnovers and had a 23-4 advantage on second-chance points with 14 offensive rebounds. Ben Middlebrooks and Dontrez Styles scored 13 points each for the Wolfpack (11-18, 4-14), who shot just 38%. The Yellow Jackets finished the final four minutes of the first half on a 16-5 run and held a 41-30 halftime lead. The lead remained in double figures in the second half with a 13-0 run leading to a 24-point lead with under five minutes to go. N.C. State is home against Pitt on Wednesday and finishes the regular season at Miami next Saturday. Georgia Tech is home against Miami on Tuesday and is at Wake Forest next Saturday.
