IDV to supply 785 military logistics vehicles to the Dutch Armed Forces
Turin, 13 th May 2025 . IDV, the brand of Iveco Group (EXM: IVG) specialised in defence and civil protection equipment, has been awarded a tender from the Dutch Ministry of Defence for the supply and logistic support (including maintenance and assistance) of 785 military logistics vehicles in three versions – semitrailer tractor, recovery, and hook-lift – ensuring logistical commonality across different platforms and among many other EU member states. The trucks will enhance the capabilities of the Dutch Armed Forces and will be delivered between 2027 and 2029. The award allows for an optional lot of an additional 785 vehicles. This new award reaffirms the strength of the ongoing partnership between IDV and the Dutch Ministry of Defence following the contract for the supply of 1,283 'Manticore' Multirole Tactical Vehicles, with deliveries that started in late 2023. Netherlands to allocate €500 million to drone development for Ukraine
The Netherlands has announced it will allocate €500 million for a drone production project to support Ukraine in its ongoing fight against Russian aggression. Source: Dutch Ministry of Defence, as reported by European Pravda Details: The €500 million is part of an accelerated funding package worth €2 billion, which the Netherlands plans to allocate in 2025, the Dutch Defence Ministry stated. The announcement was made by Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans and State Secretary for Defence Geis Tuinman during their visit to Ukraine. "It was important to announce that we are providing Ukraine with accelerated support totalling €2 billion, including a €500 million drone development project. These drones will play a crucial role on the battlefield and will literally save lives," the ministry quoted Brekelmans as saying. The minister noted that this support would strengthen Ukraine's position both on the front line and at the negotiating table. Following his meeting with Brekelmans in Kyiv, Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umierov said that the Netherlands is additionally allocating €3.5 billion to Ukraine, a significant portion of which will go toward security assistance in 2025. Umierov also stated that the Netherlands supports the Drone Line initiative and is investing in Ukrainian drone production, although he did not disclose the amount of investment. Background: In March, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof announced a €700 million investment package for drone production, aimed in part at supporting Ukraine's defence industry. Ukraine to receive mobile laboratory from Netherlands for investigating war crimes
The Dutch Ministry of Defence is transferring a mobile Joint Deployable Exploitation and Analysis Laboratory (JDEAL) to Ukraine. The laboratory comprises 13 containers and technical equipment. Source: Dutch Ministry of Defence, as reported by European Pravda Details: On Thursday, 6 February, a Ukrainian delegation signed an agreement to receive the JDEAL mobile laboratory. The Dutch Defence Ministry reported that the laboratory is easily transportable and can be deployed within a few days. A team of Ukrainian specialists has recently undergone training in the Netherlands to operate the facility. The mobile laboratory will be delivered to Kyiv shortly. JDEAL is designed to provide on-site forensic and technical expertise, including fingerprint analysis, DNA sampling, and mobile phone data extraction. Background: On 16 January, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp announced a €27 million assistance package for Ukraine. On 31 January, the Dutch Ministry of Defence reported its involvement in training 26 Ukrainians to serve as F-16 aircraft crew commanders.
