The Release Windows For Yellowstone's Spinoffs About Kayce, Rip And Beth Have Been Revealed, And Now I Have Two Important Questions

Between the end of the 2025 TV schedule and the start of 2026's programming, we'll see these characters played by Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser return to our screens in two different upcoming Yellowstone shows. And knowing that they'll air pretty close together leaves me with two important questions. We knew that both Dutton Ranch, which is the Rip and Beth spinoff, and Y: Marshals, Kayce's show, were in the works for a while now. However, now we have confirmed release windows. During Paramount Global's Q1 2025 earnings call (via ScreenRant), it was revealed that Rip and Beth's spinoff would premiere on the Paramount Network (and stream the next day for those with a Paramount+ subscription) in November of this year. Meanwhile, CBS's 2025-2026 lineup featured Kayce's series, and specified that it will premiere mid-season as part of the Spring '26 programming. That means, as Dutton Ranch is ending, we'll be gearing up for the premiere of Y: Marshals, which gives me questions about when these projects will take place and how much crossover there could be. Odds are, Dutton Ranch will air its finale in December or maybe January, and if I had to guess Y: Marshals will premiere sometime in February (or maybe late January or early March). That means there will be very little time between the two shows in terms of when they air. That makes me wonder how both projects will fit into the Yellowstone timeline. Will they take place simultaneously? Will Marshals happen right after Dutton Ranch? Could they take place years apart? The options are endless, and I really can't predict what they might do, which ups my curiosity a lot. However, it does not change my mind about the fact that Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly should crossover between the two dramas. Paramount Plus: from $7.99 a month/$79.99 a yearTo keep up with everything Yellowstone, including the upcoming shows, make sure you have Paramount+. Plans start at $7.99, and you can upgrade to Premium for Showtime and no ads by paying $12.99 per month. View Deal When Yellowstone ended, Kayce and Beth went their separate ways. Kayce stayed at East Camp, very close to where the Dutton Ranch once stood. Beth and Rip moved to Dillon, Montana, to live on a new ranch. According to Google Maps, Paradise Valley, where Kayce's home is, and Dillon are a little over two hours apart if you're driving, so I think it's logical to believe the family would still see each other. Plus, Kayce and Beth left things on good terms after they both worked to facilitate the deal to give the ranch to the Broken Rock people. To me, it wouldn't make much sense if they never saw each other. So, whether these two shows take place around the same time or years apart, I want to see Kayce on Dutton Ranch, and I'd love to see Beth and Rip on Y: Marshals. While these Westerns will air on two different networks, they are all under the Paramount umbrella and will be streamable on Paramount+. So, let's cross these series over, keep the Dutton family together, and make it so all this happens around the same time, so we can see exactly how the Yellowstone story continues.

Kevin Costner Thinks All The Yellowstone Characters 'Should Be In Prison.' Honestly, I Think He's Right

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Kevin Costner may have left Yellowstone on not the best of terms, but for the most part, he speaks about the show quite highly. For example, he recently complimented how the series captured 'modern-day ranching.' However, he also tells it like it is. So, let's be real. This show is dramatic and soap operatic, and yes, as the John Dutton actor said, all the characters 'should be in prison.' While Costner left Yellowstone, he didn't leave the Western genre. So, during a chat with ET, he opened up about working in this landscape and on the Taylor Sheridan drama specifically. Speaking about how it represented 'modern-day ranching' as well as its more over-the-top plot points, the actor said: Well, it's modern-day ranching. Yellowstone was able to capture that really so beautifully. I mean, it's a bit of a soap opera; we all should be in prison. Read More About What's Next For Yellowstone The Release Windows For Yellowstone's Spinoffs About Kayce, Rip And Beth Have Been Revealed, And Now I Have Two Important Questions If you watch really any episode of Yellowstone with a Peacock subscription, I think you'll find this point to be true. There are so many brutal moments in Yellowstone that single-handedly prove Costner's point. And that's not even because some of the main characters (cough, cough, Beth) DO end up in prison at one point or another. Think about it. The Duttons have the Train Station, which is literally a place they go to dump the bodies of people they've killed. All the main characters, Kayce, Beth, Jamie and Rip, have also all killed people. Beth murdered her brother in the series finale. While he may have had that one coming, it was also illegal. Rip has caused the deaths of many folks who wound up at the Train Station. Jamie killed his biological father and that journalist. Kayce is a great shot and has lethally used that skill. These are just crimes having to do with death, too. We haven't even addressed various assaults and fights that should have ended with jail time. Plus, there's also potential white-collar crime to consider. Also, can we talk about the Y brand for a second? A lot of the time, the characters don't get a choice in getting it, and it's quite a violent action. I think that would be considered a crime as well. However, since it swears people to secrecy, it hasn't led to legal action (as far as we know). Peacock TV: from $7.99 a month/$79.99 a yearTo watch Yellowstone, you'll need Peacock. If you have it, you'll also get access to NBC and Bravo shows as well, alongside brilliant originals, like Poker Face. Thankfully, plans are pretty affordable and start at $7.99 per month. View Deal Again, this isn't a knock on the show. I love how dramatic it is, and it was incredible to see the lengths this family was willing to go to to protect their ranch. However, what Costner and I are saying here is simply a fact. Yellowstone is like a big soap opera, and in the real world, these people should 100% be in prison for what they've done. In fact, if you look back at the Dutton family tree and the shows about this family's history (which you can stream with a Paramount+ subscription), they are all criminals for at least one reason or another. Their enemies have also committed what feels like an infinite number of crimes. So, yeah, they should all be in jail.

Luke Grimes Returns as Kayce Dutton in New YELLOWSTONE Spinoff Y: MARSHALLS Ordered at CBS — GeekTyrant

CBS is officially saddling up for more Dutton family drama, but this time, it's taking a different trail. The network has ordered a new Yellowstone spinoff centered on Kayce Dutton, with Luke Grimes reprising his role as the former Navy SEAL turned cowboy. Titled Y: Marshals , the 13-episode series will shoot this summer and debut midseason 2026, airing Sunday nights. Grimes' Kayce has been a fan favorite since the very beginning. When we last saw him, Kayce had held onto a piece of the Yellowstone ranch for his family while the rest was sold to the Broken Rock Indian Reservation. Now, Y: Marshals finds him far from the family land. The official logline reads: 'With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region's war on violence.' Unlike previous Yellowstone entries which premiered on Paramount Network or Paramount+, this spinoff is heading directly to CBS. According to CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach: 'I think all of our shows right now are both streaming and linear. That's what we're focused on, is trying to make our shows work on both platforms. It certainly did occur to us that the show will do really well on streaming, because all the Taylor shows have. 'But Yellowstone and Tulsa King also did really well for us when we aired them on the network. So, in terms of Taylor's involvement, we're still early in the process. He's a very busy guy, but we'll take what we can get.' The show is being run by Spencer Hudnut, who previously served as showrunner on the final two seasons of SEAL Team . Taylor Sheridan will executive produce, and it's another collaboration between CBS and 101 Studios, under the MTV Entertainment Studios banner. This is just one of several Yellowstone offshoots in motion. Sheridan has already launched 1883 and 1923 , with 1944 on the horizon. The Madison , starring Michelle Pfeiffer, is also in development, as is a spinoff focused on Beth and Rip. Source: Variety

I'm So Grateful Kayce Is Getting A Yellowstone Spinoff, Because It Can Fix One Of My Biggest Issues With The OG Show

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. I love Yellowstone, I always have, I always will. However, I've also had a long-standing problem with the show and its treatment of Luke Grimes' character, Kayce Dutton. Thankfully, Kayce will return for his own CBS spinoff in the spring of 2026, which means there's a new chance to rectify my biggest issue with Yellowstone. Alongside a slew of upcoming Yellowstone shows – including a spinoff about Rip and Beth – CBS announced its 2025-2026 lineup will include a series tentatively called Y: Marshals. It will follow Kayce, the youngest of the Dutton siblings, as he figures out life after the events of Yellowstone. According to CBS's announcement, the series will focus mostly on Luke Grimes' character's new job with the U.S. Marshals. The synopsis explained: Y: MARSHALS (working title) stars Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region's war on violence. So, it sounds like worlds will collide, as the youngest Dutton uses his military skills and his past on the ranch to seek justice in Montana. That alone is a premise that has me sold. However, the notion that this series will finally address an element of Kayce's story that's been severely overlooked has me even more excited. Paramount Plus: from $7.99 a month/$79.99 a yearAlmost all the Yellowstone shows are available with a Paramount+ subscription alongside other originals from the streamer and CBS's lineup. So, it's well worth the $7.99 per month. You can also upgrade to Premium and pay $12.99 per month to add Showtime and take away ads. View Deal Now, when I watched 1923, I wrote about how that show fixed my Kayce problem. In the prequel, we got to see Spencer travel the world after life in the military, hone in on his destiny as the Dutton successor, and be the hero of the series. I thought all that would happen with Luke Grimes' cowboy in the OG show too, and it didn't. How To Watch The Yellowstone Shows To see how Kayce's story started, you can stream Yellowstone with a Peacock subscription. Eventually, you'll get to see his tale continue on CBS. To watch every other series and story within the Yellowstone universe, you need a Paramount+ subscription. However, now, he has the opportunity to explore facets of his character that he never got to in Yellowstone. This includes his past in the military, which is an aspect of Kayce that I've always wanted to learn more about. From the jump on Yellowstone, it was clear that there was so much interesting backstory to mine with Kayce, especially when it came to how he used that past to inform his present on the ranch. However, it never happened. We got glimpses of his history in the military; however, never any full flashbacks of his time as a Navy SEAL. Plus, we only got to see him deploy his skills on a few occasions. With Y: Marshals, we'll get to solely focus on Kayce and seemingly this aspect of his story that I was dying to get more of back when Yellowstone was on. So, yeah, I'm stoked about this new Yellowstone spinoff, and I cannot wait to see how Luke Grimes continues to play this Dutton character that deserved so much more than he got on the flagship show.

Penn Badgley Calls Joe 'the Luckiest Guy in New York' After Returning With Kate in ‘You' Season 5 Teaser

Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) is coming back to where it all began: New York City. On Tuesday, Netflix dropped a new teaser for You season five, which will also be the show's final season. More from The Hollywood Reporter 'Zero Day' Tackles Truth in a Post-Truth Era: "Is the Reality That We Face Scarier Than Our Show?" Jon Bernthal to Return in 'Punisher' Special for Marvel and Disney+ Disney, Netflix Hit TV Usage Highs in January Joe opens the teaser by saying, 'Love tests us. I've been tested more than most. This is the last time. I came from nothing: a true rags-to-riches story. I've been through it all, unlucky in life and in love until I met you.' The 'you' he's referring to this time is Kate Galvin (played by returning star Charlotte Ritchie). He ends the teaser with the message: 'Who knew I'd become the luckiest guy in New York?' Last season ended with Joe, who's taken a new identity, returning to the Big Apple with Kate. However, it doesn't look like it's all sunshine on the horizon, as Joe is haunted by his past. You follows Joe and his obsessions with stalking a new woman every season — even killing them. The first season of the thriller series took place in NYC, and his love obsession at the time was Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail), who's now dead. Here's the brief logline of the upcoming season from Netflix: 'In the epic fifth and final season, Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires.' Badgley previously told The Hollywood Reporter about where he thinks his character will go after season four. 'What I like is that it actually puts us in a new place, because as much as we like watching the arc of Joe, we also want him to be brought to justice. But, death or prison? Are they that satisfying? What do we even mean when we say 'brought to justice'? Do we really want vengeance? Do we want revenge? Do we want torture? What is it that people want? And, what is actual justice? They're not necessarily the same thing,' he said. 'I think he actually can go to a new place and, if and when it happens, it'll probably be this spectacular resolution that everybody's hoping it could be, because now he has further to fall. He has power and the stakes are high. He's not just some guy anymore.' The final season of You drops April 24.
