Bar Council welcomes move to set up special training academy for advocates
The Andhra Pradesh Bar Council unanimously passed a resolution at its meeting organised under the chairmanship of N. Dwarakanatha Reddy at the High Court on Saturday expressing its gratitude to the government for taking the initiative to establish a special training academy for advocates.
Mr. Dwarakanatha Reddy said in a press release that the council was requesting the government to name the proposed academy after 'Andhra Kesari' Tanguturi Prakasam, saying that his contributions to the State and the legal fraternity as the first Chief Minister of Andhra State, a fearless freedom fighter, and a legal luminary were unparalleled.
Alternatively, he suggested that the academy be named after Justice (Retd.) Koka Subba Rao, who was the first Chief Justice of India from the Telugu community, celebrated for his unstinted legal acumen and unwavering dedication to justice delivery system, and his landmark judgements.
Naming the academy after either of those distinguished personalities would be a fitting tribute to their legacy and a source of inspiration for the future generations of legal professionals in the State, Mr. Dwarakanatha Reddy observed.
