Dwayne Connikie, 44, of Motherwell Court, Newport was fined £120 and must pay £85 costs after he pleaded guilty to possession or custody of a fighting dog – an XL Bully called Zeus – on November 26 last year. An order was made that the dog be destroyed. Bridie Jones, 25, of Porset Drive, Caerphilly was banned from driving for 14 months after she admitted drug driving with cocaine in her blood on Caerphilly Road, Ystrad Mynach on December 7 last year. She must pay £505 in a fine, costs and a surcharge. Chiannagh Lewis, 28, of North Street, Newport was disqualified from driving for six months after pleading guilty to speeding at 63mph in a 50mph zone on the M4 motorway eastbound between Junction 25 and Junction 24 on the A449 off slip road on April 6 last year. He must pay £240 in a fine, costs and a surcharge. Dale Drew, 33, of Partridge Way, Duffryn, Newport was jailed for 12 weeks, suspended for six months, after he admitted being in breach of a restraining order on June 1. He must pay £85 costs. James Voisey, 47, of Ennerdale Court, Newport must pay £285.40 in fines and compensation after pleading guilty to stealing food items, groceries and alcohol worth £105.40 and hair products, washing tablets and food worth £100 from Tesco on March 30 and April 16. David Harper, 80, of Glamorgan Street, Brynmawr must pay £304 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to speeding at 48mph in a 40mph zone on the A472 at Lower Race, Pontypool on July 21 last year. His driving record was endorsed with three penalty points. Kerry Evans, 49, of Dan Y Bryn, Gilwern, Monmouthshire was banned from driving for six months after she admitted speeding at 57mph in a 50mph zone on the A465 between Clydach and Brynmawr on July 19 last year. She must pay £251 in a fine, costs and a surcharge. Jack Carr, 30, of Heol Y Pwca, Pontnewydd, Cwmbran must pay £253 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after pleading guilty to using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without insurance on Phillip Street, Newport on July 12 last year. Her driving record was endorsed with six penalty points. Richard Rogers, 55, of Fairview Avenue, Ty Sign, Risca was banned from driving for six months after he admitted using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without insurance on the A472 in Newbridge on July 15 last year. He was fined £120 and must pay £90 costs.
